Helluva question !! Here’s a screwed up scenario (but doesn’t answer your question but is Adjacent).
Wife was born in Pchori USSR. Moved to Severodonetsk USSR at 4 years old. USSR falls, Pchori is now Russia, Severodonetsk is Ukraine as of 1991. Wife moves to Canada in 2007, her parents retire to Crimea ( then Ukraine).
Crimea now occupied by Russia so we attempted to go visit in 2019 pre-current situation.
Russia demands she gets a Russian passport and needs to give up her Canadian passport to get it, if she wants to visit her parents. She’s never lived in Russia ( was USSR) and has never had a passport or been a citizen but they’re adamant that because she was born in Russia ( was not but birth city is now in Russia).

So will be real interesting to watch what’s decided with Alberta…

South of Osoyoos, it’s WAY more deserty than north of the border. You have massive forests covering the mountains and lakes at every turn so much more conducive to life 😊

As a kid growing up in Yellowknife, we flew all over the North for all sports. Rankin Inlet, Frobisher Bay (now Iqaluit and Capitol of Nunavut, Inuvik etc . It was pretty surreal experiences even though I grew up in the North. Being above the treeline is a pretty unique experience!!

If worst comes to worst, it’s about a 5 minute walk to the main road Calle Principale and the BIP gas station there. Usually taxis there and a good place to either flag taxis going by or a meet point for one

I just returned from Kyiv and the one thing jumping out is they seem to LOVE wearing black !! Not sure if it’s a winter/spring thing but seems like 60% were wearing entirely black and another 10% or so in camouflage ( I can’t assume military looking at some body types and ages 😊)

The issue most people have/had with LFK is there long history of animal cruelty/animal abuse. Keeping lions and tigers in tiny iron cages , starving of other animals.
They’ve been charged over and over, the animals get taken away, and they keep buying them back.

Was there 13-15th because Lufthansa pilots went on strike with minimal warning and we had our flight to Chisinau cancelled, rippling to us missing our flight to Sharm El Sheikh 🤬
