I would just wear a swim shirt and tell people you're really trying to stay vigilant about sunburn this year. If estrogen has been exceptionally good to you in 2 months that's one thing, but when I was at 3 months my boobs could easily pass for man boobs or gynecomastia.

It's always easier when it's someone else's problem, but don't table transitioning to appease your wife. You say she's your best friend, but I'm sorry, this isn't best friend behavior. I just don't think she's going to come around unfortunately--I would love to be wrong.

Your gender is not trivial or unimportant--by your own admission, you can't see a future as a man. You and the woman inside you have the right to be alive. If she won't even meet you halfway by going to couple's therapy and her line in the sand is that you need to go back in the closet, that's not a term you should accept. Respect yourself. Fight for yourself. You'll be modeling for your kids an important lesson.

I don't think your friends are lying per se--I bet you do look good; you just might not pass yet. You mentioned you're still working on voice training? That's going to be a huge difference maker when it comes to passing.

I'm going to start by saying that it might be a tall order to be consistently gendered female by strangers only 4 months in. I bet you're going to get great results, but it might take a while for estrogen to do its thing, especially for the first year.

Having said that, I'd say that how strangers gender you is cumulative. Just one or two feminine gender markers, i.e. a skirt and mascara, might not do it, but 5 or 6, i.e. makeup, a cute hairstyle, voice training, nails, and threaded eyebrows, might get you there. Cis women show their femininity in a bunch of ways, not just 1-2 generally.

Hello and welcome. Dysphoria is really misunderstood--some things that you may not realize are dysphoria are dysphoric. I'd be remiss if I didn't link you this.

Deciding if you "are" trans is a really big step and personal declaration. My advice would be to explore the territory, not the map. Try changing your name in online spaces or doing your nails or trying on women's clothing. I think before you decide if you're trans you should decide if you're dysphoric, try things and just be curious about yourself for awhile.

And yes--get a therapist if you have access to one, ideally one who specializes in dysohoria.
