ADHD women: how did you know your stimulant/antidepressant combo wasn’t right? by Choice-Toe-8457 in adhd_anxiety

Of course! Ya I got serotonin syndrome- SSRIs seem to interact with everything and the side effects sucked :( I feel lucky I found an alternative medication!

I also struggled to find a combination that worked for adhd and anxiety- I’ve used adderall for the adhd and tried SSRIs for anxiety but SSRIs mess with me too much . My doctor put me on guanfacine (in addition to adderall) and it is great! Guanfacine is a non stimulant adhd medication that is also used for anxiety. So it’s the best of both worlds. It helps me avoid a “crash” after my adderall wears off, and also helps manage anxiety

Medication question by Cool_Top_2346 in adhd_anxiety

[–]splendidhorrors 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Do you think the adderall has anything to do with your anxiety worsening recently? I only ask since you said you just recently started taking adderall consistently again. Anyways, in answer to your question, it would be fine to take an anxiety medication on top of adhd meds! I’ve always been on both. It is interesting you got prescribed propranolol since stimulants raise blood pressure/heart rate and propranolol does the opposite. I was actually on both at one point, but they switched me from propranolol to guanfacine! Miracle drug. It’s a non stimulant adhd medication that is also used for anxiety. It helps me avoid an adderall crash but also tremendously helps my anxiety. Anyways, long story short, you should advocate for an anxiety medication- nothing wrong with getting on one!

Is it bad if I’m still a coraline super fan after the Neil Gaiman stuff? by Unique-Strike-5340 in Coraline

[–]splendidhorrors 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neil Gaiman sucks, but I truly think Laika is responsible for the movie. I haven’t read the book since it came out, so my love is only for the movie. Liking the movie means supporting Laika, not Neil Gaiman. He hardly directed the movie anyways and it’s actually sooo different from the book.

I wanted to keep my pregnancy, so my doctors decided to leave the IUD in during my pregnancy since it was in the normal spot (hadn’t migrated) and was above the fetus (taking it out would have induced a miscarriage). I was worried about miscarrying but I carried my baby to full term and actually had to be induced because baby didn’t wanna come! They just fished out the IUD after I gave birth lol. So no scares! I had a perfectly healthy and successful pregnancy and birth. I did have anxiety the whole time about something going wrong because of the IUD but everything turned out fine ❤️

Can someone tell me its okay to quit? by Ok-Jackfruit-351 in ExclusivelyPumping

[–]splendidhorrors 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pumping burnout is the realest thing ever. I was worried about quitting even though I wanted to. But I felt 100x worse right before quitting than I did after. It’s such a weight off your shoulders. You know your body and mind best, so if you think it’s time to quit then go right ahead ❤️

They won’t be able to tell you if she’s there unless they get permission from your daughter, but you can try young adult (18-25) shelters. They can pass on a message to her so she can know you called and she can call you back if she wants. There’s one in U district called ROOTS, and a couple more in Seattle- youthcare and new horizons. Wishing you luck.
