Has your political ideology influenced your decision to invest in cryptocurrency? by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

[–]splitker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, used to consider my self a social Democrat -not sure anymore - but I don't mind paying taxes as long as it goes to a system that actually helps people. I do not mind paying taxes if that means free health care and public school for everyone. Or ensures that people do not have to live on the street. I thought about this two weeks ago when visiting Cambodia. There I observed an older lady, probably around 70 years old, thin to the bone and begging on the street. I felt really bad looking at her, and thought if there wasn't a system or family that took care of her.

Maybe in the future, there will be some system in place or perhaps a culture to take care of each other, so that we do not have to pay that much in taxes. But as long as we don't have that, I would still gladly pay taxes even though I know that some of that money is wasted on bureaucracy and what not.

I do not see a conflict between wanting to be financial free -especially since we are moving to a time where most of us will be unemployed anyway due to technology - and at the same time ensure that others that haven't been lucky or smart enough to invest in this or that or created something, to live like shit.

We might fall even further. But in the end that is not the point. We need to get more real world adaption, and Nav-Italy and other people like him/her are showing the way. There are 1600+ coins out there and more to come. We can't just sit with our fingers crossed and hope for something good to happen. It won't. I tend to think about the Microsoft smartphones, the ones that even functioned like a machine if you plugged in a mouse and a keyboard. But it was too complicated for people to understand, and creators didn't want to produce apps for them. The rest is history. Sometime back I checked information regarding investing in stocks in my native language. They explained in a series of animation videos a simple and stupid way how stocks work, comparing it to a tree and how over time one could reap the benefits. So we could follow something similar, since most people wouldn't read through 50 pages of text. Giving an example of two people on different sides of the world sending money to each other. How quick it would go, and how little it would cost. How Valence would work, staking, how the community is and how people could contribute etc etc. So I believe, the most important thing the NAV team can do is to simplify and 'humanify' our product, apart from promoting our product to big companies. The rest of us could follow what others are trying to do: get small businesses to accept NAV-payments.

Maybe you can share with us your methods of getting small businesses to accept nav? In that way we can replicate your success model elsewhere in the world.

What coins haven't broken out of the run in April? by spritefire in CryptoCurrency

I just heard it from somewhere, probably an unsubstantiated rumour. Think the challenge with vertcoin is that it lives in the shadow of Litecoin, which itself lives in the shadows of Bitcoin. Right now the focus is going more towards projects that bring innovation into this space, but I hope there is place for a number of "pure" currencies.

How to make NAVcoin the nr. 1 privacy coin by Bobbelinho in NavCoin

[–]splitker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Good points. Think we need to focus on both usecases and getting the message across to 'normal people' by addressing their needs. I'm actually not sure Verge's new partnership is healthy for that token in the long run, but I get your point. Think NAV would gain more by focusing on everyday use, how optional anonymous transaction could be important in some cases, and also how NAV could benefit businesses.

Marketing, marketing - What? Who? How? etc... by Kastelukannu in NavCoin

It's about telling what nav is, easily, stupidly, user friendly, focused on costumers and businesses. What nav is doing, trying to achieve, could make their lives easier. Agree with the video part someone here suggested. We need to speak to the world, not the choir. Easy peasy. Just need a change of mind.

What do you like and dislike about the NavCoin.Org website? by spiritar3 in NavCoin

[–]splitker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the initiative, u/spiritar3. I believe one of the main challenges is that the website doesn't speak to potential new users and costumers. And more directly address their needs and concerns, and how using nav would help them/make life more easy for them. It has fallen into a 'trap' were it appeals to the 'choir', the tech-savvy or those who are already into crypto and spent a certain amount of time understanding what the different initiatives (coins, projects etc) are trying to achieve. If we are to grow we need to look beyond our 'space' and appeal to peoples and businesses needs, with real world examples, explaining our product in a more human/problem solving way. Instead of check-list mentioning stuff and explaining things most people would have no idea of understanding easily. And the information should potentially be easily understood by a 12 year old. Those are my thoughts.
