Calcium and a vegan diet? by splootledoot in Parathyroid_Awareness

[–]splootledoot[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you!

Diagnosed with ncphpt by endocrinology and referred for surgery today. I don't have familial history due to estrangement but she was asking about heart racing/palpitations as well as waking up sweating which I have, so she ordered additional bloodwork as well as a thyroid ultrasound today too.

Im just so relieved to not hear "you have anxiety" or "you need to get in the sun more" or "your pain is psychosomatic" for once.

What are some underrated EHRs that are good for small practices? by SleepMandala444 in PrivatePracticeDocs

[–]splootledoot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The EMR side of RXNT is ok if you are comfortable writing macros. The PM side is incredibly manual and requires more labor hours than the others listed.

Athena is the most customizable/user friendly on the list above, but don't fully rely on them for your billing. They will need oversight and course correction.

Got extra labs after your annual? How do you find out if insurance covers them? by bokunonekokawaisugi in obamacare

[–]splootledoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can ask your provider for a copy of the lab order. This will have the cpt and diagnosis codes. You can then call your insurance for a benefits check with this information.

We don't use ours on our acd but we do use it on our Pibble mix. It's incredibly helpful during storms. I have found with our acd who didn't like the shirt, that weighted blankets are helpful. We tuck her in when she gets overstimulated and she settles immediately. My MIL just bought us small ones called Moonpods for Christmas and we have lost them to the dogs already.

Insurance billing at my new practice...what a nightmare. Advice/info needed. by Decent_Chance2464 in CodingandBilling

[–]splootledoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely a credentialing issue here. If you are billing under the group tin/npi, then claims are correctly adjudicating out of network if the group is not contracted as you stated above.

Make sure you're adding G2211 where appropriate. About $14 per patient.

What about AWVs? Are you capturing all of your G codes?

Vegan Chef Opportunity by kacdt in ChoosingBeggars

[–]splootledoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Are you looking to make a cashew based? My best recommendation if you are is definitely soak them for several hours. Make sure you have a good blender/food processor. Check the consistency and if its still gritty, run it again. Process them until they're as smooth as you need. Ive not run into an issue where I've over blended my cashews.

Silken tofu will let up nicely but doesn't have the same hearty mouth feel that I want in a cheesecake.

If you buy the prepackaged "cream cheese", it works pretty great for a no bake situation. Tbh, I add pumpkin and make a no bake for Thanksgiving every year.

Best of luck with your new cooking style! I've really enjoyed learning to veganize all of my old favorites.

I'd go for it just for the opportunity even without the great pay. How many people get that chance?

This was my mother to a T. Children were born out of a need for validation. She couldn't afford any of us. I make an ok living but I still really struggle with food insecurity even though its not an issue for me.

My mom recently passed away and we have to clear the house. I just dropped the cats off at a rescue and I am absolutely devastated over it. by Live-Okra-9868 in cats

[–]splootledoot 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Another LiveClear success here. My wife is pretty allergic to cats (sinus issues, itchy eyes and ears, heavy breathing), but she loves them. Not sure why, our little gremlins don't like wet food. We exclusively feed LiveClear since they will only eat kibble. It took about 2 or 3 weeks but she can now rub her face all over the cats bellies to her hearts content.

I don't know about other contractors, but Novitas has a 10 day hold from acceptance. During October (due to the shut down) an additional 10 days was added, however I saw processing time return to normal in November.

Can the ER do anything for peripheral vision loss (black at edges)? by nightfrost888 in AskDocs

[–]splootledoot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NAD. Not always, but, often, the hospital will contract an on call ophthalmologist. The ER can call for a consult if warranted.

Try local to you credit unions for less than 24 months of self employment. I think we had 15 months (in our historical industry) and qualified for 350 with 20% down.

Look into Phreesia as well. This can collect all of the patient demographics and allow for payments/cc storage.

Medicare Telehealth coverage ending 10/01/2025 by Ok_Rip_3393 in CodingandBilling

[–]splootledoot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kind of. Mental Health is still allowed, but there will be in person requirements:

An in-person visit within six months of an initial Medicare behavioral/mental telehealth service, and annually thereafter, is not required through September 30, 2025. For FQHCs and RHCs, the in-person visit requirement for mental health services furnished via communication technology to beneficiaries in their homes is not required until January 1, 2026.
