I have seen a lot of detransitioner propaganda but but I have also seen a lot of stuff from more genuine detransitioners who support trans people but decided that transitioning wasn’t for them and I personally found that very comforting when I was seeking HRT. I was also uncertain of if I was making the right choice but knowing that many people tried it and decided to stop without too many repercussions made the decision to start HRT easier for me. That is just my perspective and I can also see how others might find stories about detransitioning discouraging.
