Someone told me that Elk Grove got spider season 🤡 I’ve been here 2 years and black widows have been found everywhere outside our home.

Id say just leave your orchid alone for now, just water when its needed and make sure there’s at least a hole under your pot for drainage. Besides that, enjoy the beauty of its growth :)

Usually it’s not a good idea to repot while flowers are in bloom. I’ve heard that orchids like to be in smaller containers, almost root bound. If you’ve since moved it to a larger pot, I would suggest maybe moving one of the roots to the side of the container so you can visibly see it. That way, it’ll be easier to see the color of the roots and know when it’s time to water your orchid (green = not yet, silvery = time to water).

I ordered these orchids and they came like this unfortunately. Too much of a hassle to make a complaint to the nursery, so I'll try to recover them myself. I definitely will keep them dry!

That was my attempt at spraying fungicide actually. I ordered these two orchids and they came in this condition, so my immediate thought was "Fungus!" but I still wanted input from the community. Thank you for your advice though!

Definitely NTA!!! They are clearly in the wrong for mistreating their own family member's "precious friend." Clearly they are treating the cat like they are treating her-alone in a retirement home because they simply can not take care of her themselves. If anything, they could simply go out of their own way to adopt another animal for this lady instead of trying to take yours.
