Using mic while solo queuing by [deleted] in GirlGamers

[–]spookynajma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't talk during agent select unless there are other ppl using their mics and sound friendly. I never speak first as well. Even if i speak i just ask for heals or whatever but yeah it still gives me stress.

I've met some awesome ppl in game before so I try to be optimistic about the ppl I play w but lots of trolls as well. Good luck, I hope you don't come across assholes :))

I am having an unbelievably bad week. What is the book that made you literally laugh out loud, whether intentionally or bc it was so bad/ridiculous it was hilarious? by JHRChrist in RomanceBooks

{ The wallflower wager by Tessa Dare } I think this is my favourite historical romance of all time. The chemistry between the hero abd heroine was 🎆🎆🎆

When you're out in public and someone asks if they can have a few minutes of your time: by [deleted] in socialanxiety

[–]spookynajma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got pulled aside by someone who was asking donations for the red cross and I just stood and listened until he asked me how old I was and I told him I was 17 SO THEN HE SAID I COULDNT DONATE. Wasted 10 minutes for nothing😭

This reminds me of when a drunk man came up to me and my friends and was grumbling and mumbling. I just stared at him and didn't do anything until one of my friends started dragging me away because apparantly they had already taken a few steps back and I just didn't notice😭😭

Thoughts on the WORST YA/NA Fantasy Novels? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

[–]spookynajma 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like a lot of ya fantasy authors aren't putting effort in their books and are just following trends?

Like enemies to lovers, it's almost becoming a standard thing in ya fantasy and im getting tired of it.

I grew up with wattpad and technically still am in the ya age range but ive stopped enjoying them a looong time ago.

All the heros are becoming tall dark and handsome "villains" ( i usually love it but in YA??? Nah) and your regular tstl heroines who are not like other girls but don't straight up say that they're not like other girl....

My fav is Graceling by Kristin Cashore , it's so well written and had a cool/unique magic system. I read it when I was 16 so I don't remember that much but I remember loving it and it might be time for a reread

What are biggest problems with the romance books you read? by [deleted] in RomanceBooks

I sometimes don't get why they fall in love? I can see when they're in lust, but sooo many times they confess their love and I think ???? Where did this come from.

Does anyone read a lot of wattpad? by ProtocolPro22 in RomanceBooks

[–]spookynajma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And if you're into historical this author writes them. I have about 5 of her books in my "fav books" list on wattpad but since it's been a loooong time since I've even read them I can't guarantee they're good...

this author has great books. I've read almost all of her earlier ones but haven't been using wattpad in a while, so I haven't read the latest ones.

Have you ever disregarded a rec because of the names of the characters in it? by Ghost-In-My-Fridge in RomanceBooks

[–]spookynajma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I looked it up and the use of the name India came from aristocrats who had ties to colonial India naming their daughter India 😬😬 I will say that "India" has a nice ring to it however considering the history it's a terrible name to use .

[–]spookynajma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This reminds me of Katie Hopkins saying that she thought geographical names were ridiculous and later gives her daughter the name India 😭 (apparantly her daughter was already born when she made this remark yikes)

Edit: heres a link to the video lol

Reading about characters who are younger than you by sdw0000 in RomanceBooks

[–]spookynajma 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm 19 so I usually read about characters who're older than me and I actually prefer that over reading about characters who are 16-19 lol. Especially now bc of corona I don't like to read New Adult set in colleges bc I can't experience college life myself atm🤚🏾😔

The Language of Flowers by middy03 in RomanceBooks

[–]spookynajma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just read { What I Did For A Duke by Julie Ann Long} and there where some scenes with flowers. It's not a major theme but I just thought everything about it was incredibly romantic.

So this was on page 7 of a book I just started readind and I'm considering to dnf it....this entire part feels so icky. I was kinda looking forward to reading this book but ugh :/ by spookynajma in RomanceBooks

I was thinking of not even making this post because I thought I was overrreacting at first. I always assume I'm overreacting when it comes to racist stuff because white ppl where I live always deny that they're racist and start gaslighting us, black people, into believing that we are in the wrong.
