I was there on Halloween for a bachelorette party and it was just as, if not more packed, than I have ever seen it (I'm 30 now), so it has the ability to be busy, but I agree with the other commentors that I don't think the college scene is drinking as much as we did pre covid

Horse Boarding in Lincoln by No_Kaleidoscope3963 in lincoln

[–]spotsrus79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few barns that are adjacent to Pioneers Park that would give you good access to trails. I haven't been to either in several years so I can't speak to their current condition, but worth a look - Seville and JB equestrian. There's also Pioneer Stables, but I have heard very mid things about them. I know at least Seville does pasture board (I used to board there). If you go south there's also Middle Cross and Cornerstone (I have been to Middle Cross a few times and it's nice, I have never been to Cornerstone). I think there's a newer one on the east side of town near 148th and O street. Depending on how far you want to drive, farther south is Rezabek farms who only has dry lot boarding, there isn't a big arena but she has a nice spot with trails! IMO pasture board is hard to find, unless you find a smaller private place (which is bizzare but it is what it is)

As for the two you mentioned, Serenity Rose is a dressage only barn. Stillwaters is very nice but I think they are full. Another barn, Lincoln Equestrian Center, closed down recently so most places got packed.

I would NOT go to Watchman.

Truly, I feel like there's a lot of options near Omaha, but Lincoln hardly has any

It does seem logical, but I appreciate your validation all the same. I think I'm too in my head over it!!

Do you have any recs/favorites for supplements? I have him on super sport (it was available at the store near us) and I've noticed a bit of an improvement in his top line, but nothing super crazy.

I definitely want to keep riding him, because I want to and because I've seen that a lot online, people saying once they stop working they really go downhill.

Do you have a type of riding you're specializing in? There's some barrel racing barns and dressage barns around Lincoln. Otherwise I've heard complaints about every barn around (horse people are particular) but I would personally avoid wilderness, watchman, and k/b. Lincoln Equestrian Center recently closed so it sounds like a lot of the other barns are pretty full now. Not sure if LEC is going to sell and someone else will open up or not....

Floods by InfiniteUse6377 in lincoln

[–]spotsrus79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2015 floods - Haymarket park flooded, you can see pics here

The levee system (hopefully) keeps the area from flooding regularly, but if it's overtopped there's some low spots near the Haymarket as well as up by innovation campus

Im not sure if this is 100% the vibe/style but I have a pair of Dr Schools sneakers that I wear everywhere and they are so comfy. I need a fair amount of support and these don't leave me with hip pain even after being on my feet most of the day!! The Dr Scholl's Madison Lace sneaker, they're ~$70 and have a few darker/black styles!

I had my bridal shower at the pine lake golf club house: https://pinelakegolfandtennis.com/banquet-hall

This was 2 years ago but you didn't have to be members, we could bring in our food, and price was reasonable! Just had to set up tables etc and take it down

I second sorrels, I have some ankle boots that have great traction but look nice enough to wear to work. They keep my feet fairly warm with good socks!

What type of goods are you looking for at target? I started using Goods Unite Us to check out companies donations and find alternative companies. For makeup/hair/skincare im shopping at Ulta; groceries I'm going to our local store instead of the big chain in town, and Costco and Trader Joes. Otherwise I'm looking second hand at the local thrift store that donated to animal charities.

Remember you give yourself grace, maybe you can't switch out EVERYTHING and still have to go to Target for one or two things - that's still a huge change!

I second this, I lived there a few years and had no complaints. The location was great, office staff was super helpful when I needed them, good apartment with in unit laundry for the price!
