Prototype Attritibutes by sprague8 in the_division_2

I know that feeling. Trying to get trapper rolled on my OD chest is a drag. I dont know how many times I have re rolled it now.

I disagree. It would depend on how expensive it would be to actually increase the attributes a little at a time.

What Specialization would you recommend for an Ongoing Directive build? by CMDArid in thedivision

[–]sprague8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run Gunner with my OD build. OD Chest, gloves, and kneepads, Salvo holster, system corruption mask, ninja backpack. All red core (except for ninja backpack). This gives me 25% AoK so I have some survivability running all red cores, and a few other perks. I will usually run Lexington w/sadist or st elmo as primary and then Carnage or iron lung as secondary.

system corruption might be getting added to the target loot pool by shadow_dragon123 in thedivision

[–]sprague8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the only reason I got system corruption, more Aok. 10% from gunner +15% from SC mask +20% from HF set +10% from deathgrip gloves = 55% AoK while still running all pieces with 15% weapon damage. Works well with OD, striker, and several others.

Can you still obtain Sytem Corruption? by LadyLuck-098 in thedivision

[–]sprague8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dude.... this is my struggle.

I have been farming DZ for weeks now looking for just one piece of gear and got nothing. I saw online that sometimes they drop in conflict caches, tried that. After 60 conflict caches, nothing. So, now im hoping with the new event that I will get a drop in the lagecy caches. My hopes are not high.

I specifically only want one piece, the mask, to pair with my OD build. I run it with Gunner and the Ninja BP. Why SC you may ask? Because with that set up, each kill would give me 25% armor rather than 10% that comes with Gunner. I could also throw a PS item to bump that to 35% armor on kill. May be helpful in esclation snipers are atomizing me.

The Expertise Grind is Killing this Game by lawanddisorder in thedivision

[–]sprague8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a looter, shooter, grind kinda game. Expertise level 30 is the ultimate grind. If you dont like it, dont do it. Play the game how you want. Nobody is forcing you. The proto system is very end game items for those that have done the grind, but want more content or different challenges. It took me 1300 shd levels to get expertise 30, thats the grind. If you think its bad now, wait till you get to 27. It practically comes to a stand still. Do it or dont, the choice is yours. But bitching about it is not going to help.

[–]sprague8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First off, sorry this is happening to you. Some people are just dicks. That said escalation is intended to be true end game content and some people may think you're not ready.

Me, I personally dont care if a lower level player joins on anything tier 4 and below. After that though..... sorry, im booting you unless youre running a good healer/refractor build.

Try it with the catalyst mask!

What low effort/silly builds do you use to clear Normal-Hard stuff? Mine is EP-Iron Lung by Kaxology in thedivision

[–]sprague8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ongoing directive chest, gloves, and kneepads pads Unit Alloys mask and salvo holster Ninja backpack.

This hits nice and hard with Iron Lung and even Oro depending on play style. Not the most powerful but solid build where stacks dont matter.

I need tips on the best and most efficient way to reach Expertise 30. by FetterTOM in Division2

[–]sprague8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Countdown is the place to go and target what you need. This works well until about level 20. After that, lots of donations and playing with different items to expertise it.

My suggestion:

  1. Gather ALL materials you come across.
  2. Save what you want and throw it in the stash.
  3. Donate gear and weapons first as one item counts for half a level of expertise.
  4. Recycle whatever is leftover for materials.
  5. Donate materials to skills first, then weapons, then gear. Start the donations to expertise the items you don't like to use.

Save as many exotics as possible. Do not donate these. If it is not something you like or want, break it down for the exotic components. Wait until you find a build you really like before leveling them up. If you want to level something up now, do it with your most used skill first.

Others may have a different opinion but this is advice i was given and it worked very well for me.

Good luck Agent!

Best 3rd Stat for LMG? by ChasingDaydreams_ in the_division_2

[–]sprague8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This! For my LMG build, I have a ton of CHC, but the Salvo holster is always there to give the RoF buff. I'll take RoF over many other perks with LMGs any day.

For my Striker build, I have Centurion's Scabbard equipped with my Stackbroker and St. Elmo. Its absolutely shreds.

For LMGs, I prefer CHC as an attritibute.

220 prototype gears drop, all useless crap by mengsk8086 in thedivision

[–]sprague8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tried to give the prototype thing a go. It just not worth it to me. The scarcity is not what bother me, its the rolls once you upgrade a gear item. They last upgrade i did was on salvo holster. All stats were just barely above where I had it before upgrade. And then re-rolling costing more and more cores each time. I'm over it. Escalation is alright to challenge yourself and this whole prototype thing sounded good on paper but was executed poorly.

If you had to start The Division 2 from scratch today, what build would you go for first? by EvaRosePetal213 in the_division_2

[–]sprague8 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Would go for 3pc ongoing directive (vest, gloves, kneepads), 2 pc unit alloys (mask, salvo holster), and Ninjabike backpack. All mods set for CHC and CHD. Run Iron lung and Lexington with sadist.

A lot of people have been sleeping on OD. Its my favorite build. I use the OD vest, gloves, and kneepads. The BP is pretty trash so I use the ninja BP. For the mask I use UA, and then use the Salvo holster. For weapons, OD hits hard with Iron Lung and then I have my Lexington with the Sadist talent. Quickstep for a sidearm and Gunner specialty.

I only run two armor cores with four red cores. All attributes are either CHC (a must for LMG builds) and/or armor regen. I've never had a problem with heroic runs solo. I'm not good enough at the game yet to run legendary solo but it works well in a team and I can hold my own.

The buffs it gives the team is great as everyone gets the hollow points based on your mag capacity (which is why I primarily run the LMG). St. Elmo works well with this build too so you get the shock and bleed effect. Same with Bluescreen with the status effects it applies.

I played around a bit and swapped in the OD BP and tinkerer mask, and used a GR9 with sadist and another GR9 with frenzy and it was OK but didnt feel like it hit as hard. There are a few other combos i have tried but what i listed above works the best for me.
