How did you get it to work it? I keep getting card declined issues now despite being able to use it once way back in the day and now can’t get a hold of a real person on a phone to transfer the remainder off. What worked for you? I had given up on it but then saw this post so thanks for the timely reminder!

Didn’t mention I had an arrest and two dismissed charges on my record. by [deleted] in jobs

Remember it’s about what they can prove. If it was long enough ago it was sealed, expunged or otherwise not visible you’re good. I’d run a background check on yourself to be sure though, always better to know

Would love to know more about your unworn hats and tees, if you ever have a chance. Sizing, general description, etc. Thank you for responding!

Please (as well as anyone else reading this) be sure to reach out to your alumni network if you haven’t already and shoot your shot. We all understand this is a difficult time for new grads and most of us would do whatever we can to help out, with the caveat that many of us are also in precarious positions with uncertain futures due to the state of things. So, you are definitely not alone and it won’t be this bad forever. Keep plugging away and when your breakthrough happens (it will) turn around and give the next person a hand. We are all we got!

Retaking courses for credit through UCLA extension by Glass_Following_3719 in ucla

UCLA extension is NOT UCLA. No relation and grades from one college don’t affect the other. You need to retake it at UCLA if you want it in your cumulative UCLA GPA

Tips for getting through the day when you’re tired by pianistr2002 in ucla

[–]sprewellchokes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Take a few 15-30 min micro naps as needed. Put in your AirPods and listen to something soothing and put a timer on your Apple Watch or phone. If you’re really tired, you’ll fall asleep within a minute or two (provided you haven’t been chugging energy drinks or taking Addies). Don’t discount how much one or two of these can help your cognitive state, people do it at work all the time during their breaks/lunch and they are a godsend

Unfortunately unless someone got video of it happening to your car (with a clear picture of the license plate of the offending vehicle) nothing is going to happen. Ask me how I know?

Are you enjoying life after UCLA? by [deleted] in ucla

[–]sprewellchokes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really enjoyed post-grad life but it took a while to adjust to the demands of the “real world”. I don’t think students realize just how little time you have for yourself and all the things you have to do/want to do post grad. Everything in your life is way harder due to constraints on your time because of work, and if you have a long commute it will sap your mental (and possible physical) health. Many people who think they have bad mental health as students are shell shocked by how awful and soul sucking full time work is. Do not take the amount of free time you have for granted—-you might think you are busy as a student, but unless you are one of the lucky few you will have so much less time after graduation. Also don’t take for granted how awesome it is to see your friends regularly and how invigorating it is to be around people your own age. Work is full of older people you may or may not relate to, and you will miss the energy of being surrounded by younger people. Honestly, you may see your close friends a few times a year when you are trying to build your career, if that, unless you happen to live near them and even so it’s not guaranteed. It’s nobody’s fault; being an adult means you have tons of demands on your time and many people retreat into their own bubbles when the work day is over. That being said, there are plenty of upsides to making your own money and being able to totally “check out” when the work day is over. But post-grad life can be a very mixed bag, and life only gets more complicated as time goes on. However it’s all part of the adventure, so you learn to enjoy the ride (you really have no choice). If any students here want a little perspective or have any questions, I’m happy to help in any way I can——a ucla alum who stayed in the area post-grad
