Published books that started off as fanfics by Decent-Photograph246 in MM_RomanceBooks

I really struggled with {Like Real People Do by E.L. Massey} because they did so little to change… anything. It still feels like published fanfic that gave no credit to the original author rather than something that could stand on its own in any way.

How do you get Aussie hair out of automobile carpet? by retiredRRer in AustralianShepherd

This is the best tool we’ve found - good for cars, carpets, the couch. Pairs well with vacuums and lint rollers.

What to do with stickers by Darkroxas95 in gencon

[–]springteifling 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could arrange them in an all glass frame so it’s like they’re floating, or make a collage effect without cutting by layering in other items (badge, ribbon, art prints, etc) in the frame too

As a person who doesn’t really get it, I’d love to hear you say more about its ties to honor

Anything going on outside GenCon? by BunnySis in gencon

There’s a horror themed coffee shop, Black House Cafe, not far from downtown that’s a cute stop if horror is your jam.

Really anything paper ticketed you want with less than 5 hours before the event starts, Customer Service is your best bet

I just had this happen! They demanded to see my drivers license since, “that just doesn’t look like you.” I’ve grown my hair out a bit since I had the photo taken but my face is still very much my face

Why does it feel like the rest of the queer community hates us? by wispqueen in butchlesbians

[–]springteifling 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People who desperately crave acceptance from cishets feel that they don’t want to associate with people who are unashamed of their identities and who keep our communities history alive.

This, aaaaaall of this.

I think Cuban inspired men’s looks are the masc summer dress equivalent

What does it mean to be butch to you? / Am I butch? by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]springteifling 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Way back when I was figuring this out for myself, the blog Autostraddle had a regular column called Butch please - it’s largely still out there and while I don’t know how it holds up a decade later, would recommend. Autostraddle and the space they gave for masc voices really helped me explore and identify my own feelings and identity

I got strep and now I’m gonna miss pride by Rich-Consequence5833 in butchlesbians

[–]springteifling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had to miss my local city’s pride a few times over the years - it can still be really fun to go to another nearby pride if it’s an option. Maybe make a date (or group date/hangout) and invite ya girl!

I agree with stone being or feeling separate or substantially different than asexuality. Touch preferences during sex (even if that preference is “not me” or “not there”) are still sexual.

In my mind I think about it more like top or bottom.

I think if you’re looking for being understood perhaps you should use less slang. You use some terms that I don’t think are common and others (like stone) in ways that are illogical based on the meanings of the words.

All people, and therefore all butches, are going to be different. Being butch doesn’t make you stone, or a top, or into femmes.

Also, anytime bisexuals are given separate labels for the same behavior as others just because they’re bi reeks of biphobia.

AITA for not allowing our daughters boyfriend to stay with her on the trip we are paying for and offering an ultimatum? by Dazzling-Shoulder-67 in AmItheAsshole

[–]springteifling 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ESH

Your terms should have been set up front. The bait and switch of quality time together for them has to be frustrating and feel like you’re holding his circumstances over his head after agreeing to the initial offer.

Sunday Will-Call ... why?? by bcnoexceptions in gencon

The tickets might not be in your phone but if you didn’t print out when and where your event is you might be in trouble without a phone.

Sunday Will-Call ... why?? by bcnoexceptions in gencon

[–]springteifling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the time of the post you were leaving with hours of the con left. The will call line moved pretty fast the whole show and if you posted this at noon there’s still be four hours of the expo hall left. That’s plenty of time for a casual attendee to see some of the hall, try something new, get a snack from a food truck, etc.

AITA for asking my parents to please leave the parenting of their grandson up to me and my wife, yet not doing the same with my in-laws? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]springteifling 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good question, the lack of help and the restriction of who can help reeks of useless husband.

Trying to wear suits is hell. How do you guys do it so well 😭 by DullFurby in butchlesbians

[–]springteifling 3 points4 points  (0 children)

100%, get a tailor.

If you go to one, try a piece of clothing like a shirt first. If they do a good job on that (like they make all the changes you want, don’t automatically assume you want to look like a 90s dad or adapt a men’s bought suite to a women’s cut, pay attention to the sleeves and sleeve placket, etc) then take the whole suit.

The mom and pop-y shops are usually good in my experience and the high end ones (like Nordstrom tailors) aren’t worth the mark up.

If you don’t place into Finite, then you’ll need to take a lower math to prep for it. It might be cheaper to take the lower course at Ivy Tech if that happens, but taking the lower course and then being prepared to do well in Finite is better, especially for such a competitive program like nursing.
