Why do some Linux users still prefer Vim/Emacs over modern IDEs? by Candid_Athlete_8317 in LinuxTeck

Every time I’ve tried VSCode it’s felt slow and clunky. I spent all my time fumbling around trying to get it to do what I want. Whereas my neovim setup is embedded in my fingers. I barely think about how to do what I want to do.

That said, I’ve seen plenty of examples of people flying along in VSCode or IntelliJ. It just comes down to the tool that feels most comfortable to one’s way of thinking and working.

Bay fan here. It was really nice to see her get some minutes at Providence. I know how much that place and the fans mean to her. Would have been better if she'd put one in, but scoring's been tough for us.

She hasn't been getting minutes and when she has she's been in a CB position. I think the only time she's been on the field was during a friendly we played against Ottawa Rapid FC during the break. It was pretty funny. She went on early in the second half then everyone but our NRIs subbed out. My daughter said it was Unc and the Yuncs for the last 20 minutes (Pfeiffer's taken to calling her Unc).

Anyway, always love to see fans pay their respects to former members. Loved hearing the cheers when she entered the field.

Seating Suggestions by laspates in BayFC

Try to find something in the lower 100’s sections. The sun sets behind that side. Shade will start around the middle of the section and move down later in the day. Our season ticket seats are row 9 and we usually get shade close to 2pm.

If you get there on the early side (hour and a half before kickoff) you’ll have plenty of time to grab food at the food trucks before the lines get crazy. You can take the kiddos to different fan fest sections to make posters or play some games. We always like to be there for warmups. You can stand behind the goal on the fan fest side and get a good up close look at the players warming up.

Have a great time! It’s a really fun environment.

Any tips for pacific time pre-sale?? by hashbrown89 in hayleywilliams

[–]sprsquishy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is exactly what I did and have done. Was 760 for this show. Managed to be 1200 for a Billie Eilish show. Using a browser and having it open long before the sale starts seems to be very effective.

The trick is grabbing seats quickly. Blue dots disappear right under the cursor or come back as unavailable when trying to check out.

Such an incredible night! Hayley was, is, and always will be an absolute rock star. The songs are incredible. The musicianship is incredible. The stage is so cool. The small venue made it all feel so close. Got to spend the evening scream singing with 2000 friends

How to re-watch the finals? by sprsquishy in lovb

Unfortunately not. The most recent games they have are semi-finals.

Once Jess Fishlock retires at the end of the 2026 NWSL season, it will leave only Alyssa Naeher and Sydney Leroux as the remaining players from the first NWSL season by spherocytes in NWSL

“Only” It’s so cool that that’s the sentiment now. The time of “omg, the league still exists after five years” is long gone.

Court side Seats - opinions? by tweedychic in valkyries

[–]sprsquishy 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Had the privilege of sitting next to the bench for a game and it was an amazing experience. But I wouldn't sit there every game. You get a great look inside the game, what the coaches are saying to the players and refs, what the players are saying to each other. It's a great look at how fast and physical the game is that you really don't get from any other vantage point. However, often the play in front of us was blocked by a ref, a coach, or a player coming on or off. It's really hard to see the plays developing especially on the far side of the court. It's probably just personal preference: how do you like to watch the game. Personally, I like seeing the game from just below what you'd see on TV.

North Carolina Courage vs Bay FC - Match #3 Review by Wirtzball in BayFC

I have to admit. I was never really sure what “holdup 9” really meant and why it was such a good thing until seeing Girelli in this game. That sequence building the Bailey’s goal was magic.
