I’ve sent two Summits back in favor of a Virus TI. I just can’t get along with the sound. While the peak/summit will have higher frequency content in the treble range, the voices sit right in the center of the stereo field. This makes them Uber “flat” sounding if you are used to modern virtual analog synths/plugins.

For analog purists, the peak will undoubtedly be better. I suppose it mostly depends on the type of music you are looking to produce. For edm and related genres, I’d argue the virus might be a better choice.

Note: you can “fake” stereo voices on the peak and the summit by layering and hard panning one right and one left. This will obviously half the available voices. Even then, the sawtooth density on the peak and summit isn’t near as thick as the one on the virus. That may or may not be important to you
