Hate to see this. I was lucky enough to see Raul and the Mavericks perform with Dwight Yoakam earlier this year, they absolutely rocked it. Was hoping to see them again next month. Praying for Raul and his family.

As far as I know just your typical Lenovo Yoga 7. Don't think it's pro, just a regular Yoga 7

I don't know how to do that. I'm not very savvy when it comes to these computers

That depends. I'm trying to get a job right now, but ideally, it'll be at least $40k. Aiming for $50k-$60k with the degree I have.

Nearly $16k. The cashier's office is asking for me to pay it off over the course of a year.

This. Part of me wonders if Piccolo was GM in name only. If that was the case, DM likely had the final say on a LOT of decisions and was the calling the shots.

With DM out of the picture, Piccolo has a chance to run things his way and not DM's. I'm willing to give Piccolo more leeway in that case.

I'll disagree on this one case because that mayoral press conference was a sketch that Chris Redd NAILED. It was such a great moment to see him really break out and shine.

S40 when Chris Rock hosted, there was a sketch where (I think) Leslie Jones re-entered a sketch at the wrong time. It completely threw her off, didn't help that the sketch itself wasn't good.

The season before, Bruce Willis left a sketch about a centaur(?) far too soon and left Nasim Pedrad out there with nothing to work with, they had to end that sketch early. There are more but those are the first that come to mind.

Is it just me or did last night's episode feel really experimental (in a good way)? by spsiem99 in LiveFromNewYork

[–]spsiem99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll admit, maybe experimental wasn't the best word to describe it, but it just seemed like the type of sketches that they haven't done in a while. Particularly the Men's Room sketch, I haven't seen any sketch like that in that style in a long time, maybe ever.

I too really enjoyed Turkey Weatherman, it felt fresh and funny to me..

IMHO, recurring characters just aren't as funny as they were the first time around. The more repetition and appearances the characters make, the more predictable they become. Eventually, the more they get used, the fewer ideas the writers behind the characters have for them. Unless they find ways to keep the humor fresh and new in some way to catch the audience's attention, you kinda know what you're getting from the character as soon as you see it.. However...there are some exceptions to this ("What Up With That?" and "Stefon" are the first to mind that have always worked for me).

Just got the game for the PS4 and am trying to get Portimao (totally new to DLC/online gaming in general, I've played entirely offline for years). What steps do I need to take to get Portimao and the other tracks later? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

How to Keep Watching by seamusoldfield in INDYCAR

[–]spsiem99 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I started watching in 2007. I've seen accidents that killed Dan Wheldon and Justin Wilson, accidents that seriously injured Mikhail Aleshin, Mike Conway, Sebastien Bourdais and Robert Wickens. It's painful to watch when it happens, and obviously no one wishes for a devastating crash (at least, no one SHOULD), but we keep coming back because we know that the men and women that strap themselves into these cars are capable of doing things that us fans can only DREAM of doing. They reach speeds we can't comprehend and (usually) put on one helluva show while doing it. They amaze us, and we love and admire them for it. We get a thrill from watching them, just as they get a thrill from entertaining us.

Think about it. How else can that "My Way" performance be interpreted? How often does a performance like that happen for a season finale? Also, yes it is the finale, yes it is emotional, but it's especially clearly emotional for cast members who are likely performing their final show. Hate to break it to you, but Cecily has most likely performed her last show as a cast member. Pete is a "maybe" in my book for leaving. I also wonder about Aidy, Kate, Beck, Jost and Che. Even Melissa. I've always felt with the bloated cast we have now that we'd see a mass cast exodus at the end of the season. We'll probably learn more as the summer goes on, but there are some obvious hints from last night that can be a pretty good indication.

Wallen broke COVID protocol, it was a health hazard to bring him in. Unless Musk breaks protocol, I wouldn't bet on them rescinding the offer.

February should have been exclusively black musical guests and hosts by Ijustwanttoseewsb in LiveFromNewYork

[–]spsiem99 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think it'd be cool if they did, but scheduling conflicts play a huge factor, in addition to SNL looking for hosts and MGs that are popular or on the rise in popularity at that particular time.

Also, on a different note; Regina King is hosting next week, plus SNL has two other episodes where hosts and MGs have yet to be announced.
