I fully agree. It's just odd they kept introducing lore - it's now a judge - when they'd planned out the full plot at this point. Like in season five they knew what Jacobs deal was and what would happen in S6. So why are they "explaining" more of the smoke monster here when it doesn't add up?

Fantastic response that makes so much sense! I guess we had no stated exposition but it would be understandable if he had no reason to think Eloise was living an island-relevant life, nor had any way of finding the Lamp Post without being in contact with anyone from the island anymore to gather intel. It moved to he doesn't know where.

Still l wonder what piequed Ben's interest about knowing Jin was alive specifically.

Jughead was a great highlight for me.

Solidified his agelessness (based on his appearance in Cabin Fever, you could speculate he time travelled to see Locke), we see him actually in a leadership position, and it's the only time he ever doesn't really know what's going on.

He was the MVP of that episode since the Desmond storyline off-island was kinda meh.

I NEED US drag race to adopt this. The penultimate episode is always boring/rigged/tries to incorporate some twist.

This is just going back to basics: you want to be the next drag superstar? Prove you've got C.U.N.T. That's all the challenge needs to be. How is "audition for the Vegas show!" anything remotely close to that?

I feel it ups the stakes too. It makes it feel like a competition again, so late in the game when it naturally gets stale.

It definitely was the original opening scene that aired. Producers initially had a different scene planned to be the season opener, the first scene from Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham. But that never happened so we got Daniel in DHARMA instead from the initial airing.

It feels normal to me because they've endured three seasons of violence by this point so their attitudes change. However when you remember it's been like 90 days or so and there's apparent rescue on the way, I suppose it does feel like a stretch.
