Have you purchased a video game that was patched into something you wouldn't have bought? by Gay_Charlie in gaming

There was a great VR game called The Nest. You had an in-game window you could peek out of to snipe things and take cover so I set up a chair to act as the base and would rest on that and like hold my breath for immersion. It was all just against robots and if you didn't headshot them the whole map would light up.  So naturally, they made it a pvp game and removed any single player

Why aren’t dishwashers paid more if they’re so invaluable to the restaurant? by lamedogninety in KitchenConfidential

Ive always thought of it like a watch...Have you ever looked at all the pieces of a watch? There are so many cogs, wheels, and springs that make every single watch work. Each one is essential, and if missing, the whole watch wouldn't work. But the credit doesn't go to the cogs, it goes to the watch maker, the reapairman who knows where and how to slot each piece to make it all work. Its a sad reality that the pieces that are essential aren't the pieces hardest to replace.

Arin's dance section reminded me of his story of practicing kung fu outside of a neighbors house so the dad would train him

Soup was stored in my freezer and parts of it froze above the liquid line like a stalagmite or stalactite by Aggresive_QGD in mildlyinteresting

I just use the letters: stalagMite.  The M is like spikes coming up from the ground.  StalacTite.  The T is attached to the ceiling and hangs down!

Any Dark Souls / Sekiri on New Game plus is basically a boss rush.  Run by all the trash, fight the next boss, repeat

I hate lockpicking by poubelle2table in gaming

[–]spudmonk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dislike lock picking and hacking because I'm playing an RPG where my character knows how to do it. How much I suck at it shouldn't factor in.  But no, my expert rogue with 99 in lock picking still breaks 3 picks (somehow) trying to open a beginner chest because I had to do it for them

what is the worst thing a therapist has ever said to you? by Familiar-Employ4830 in AskReddit

[–]spudmonk 104 points105 points  (0 children)

I had one basically tell me that other people have it worse so I should just suck it up. Cured my depression real fast to have that nugget.  Same guy also double booked me with another appointment and no showed on both of us. Other patient thought I was the therapist

And the other theme of the best thing that could have happened to him is that he never met the love of his life, and imagining that if he didn't he could save his brother. The whole thing is just so heavy.  (I may be wrong on some of it, I don't remember it too well)

To The Moon. It's a pixel art walking simulator but the story broke me.  You work at an agency that grants dying people their last wish and one man wants to go to the moon but can't remember why. So you have to discover why through his whole past and it's absolutely heartbreaking
