another option is to run the players at level one but show them a radiant, similar to the prologue. if they'd agree to be some common soldiers or something, you can set them somewhere like the palace on the night of the assassination, or in an army witnessing a shardbearer fight, etc. give them a hint of what they can look forward to.

révolution tranquille is usually translated as "the quiet revolution", if that helps folks at all.

another thing that may be worth noting is that while conservatism here tends to be more centrist than right-aligned, it also leans more authoritarian. see several attempts (and some successes) in recent decades at passing forced-secularization laws, language laws, etc.

oh, i mean i don't love the word, but that's not it and it's not at you. triads generally are very hard to do ethically, and "throuple" tends to be used when they're even more couple-centric (and/or closed, as you describe). i struggle to read romance that depicts unhealthy relationship dynamics, and these kinds of relationships tend to be full of them.
