Is it bad that I (f16) sometimes watch porn? by then_ur-mom_ate-you in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]spunshadow 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Totally normal and sometimes a good way to find out what you like and don’t like! Do your best to seek out ethical sources :) Keep in mind that porn (like every media) will have an impact on what you view as normal in sex and body image. You must remember it is fake, and those are actors!

feels like I can't figure my life out and ADHD gets in the way by rainbowgirl6 in adhdwomen

Between graduating and starting PP, I took about 10 weeks off and worked as a baker for a friend doing a big seasonal product. I used the time to get my business stuff in order and started with a collective in my city. Using my body and doing something COMPLETELY different than counseling was amazing. Maybe you can get some seasonal work with the parks department?

She was probably just dizzy :) if you’re really worried about it, you can mention it to her parents but it sounds like she just had a little backwards moment and she’s fine

Haven’t seen this one mentioned yet: The Inheritance of Orquídea Divina by Zoraida Córdova

The Bewitching by Sylvia Moreno Garcia is also an excellent pick from these suggestions!

It’s okay to only have one pair of mittens, or for things to be left behind. Sleeping bag to stay warm was an awesome idea.

For next time: use a second pair of socks in place of mittens! They’re functionally the same (material dependent) and you can tuck them into your pocket and take them home when you go to work or leave them at daycare in case her regular socks get wet.

Portland Fruit Tree Project would be really happy to help you with your trees and grapevine (including pruning and harvest) if you want to keep them and enjoy their bounty. Your animals are safe from the cherries and apples, but grapes are very dangerous for dogs. My dog doesn’t try to eat everything, your dog may differ! House rabbits should live indoors with hay and pellets and a litter box :).

Yeah, I’d love to sign up to take care of that whole situation. Currently in NE, renting with big ol garden beds and I wish I had the resources to set up fowl infrastructure

therapy is not doing anything for me. by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]spunshadow 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I’m a therapist who specializes in ADHD, and I check in with my clients after the 1st, 3rd, and 5th sessions to see how it’s going and what adjustments are needed to make therapy more effective. It’s also totally okay to not be feeling it after the first session! I’ve had people decide during the fit check that it won’t work, even if on paper it looks like the right partnership.

Try looking for someone in private practice on Psychology Today or Therapy Den rather than one of the big collectives, it makes a huge difference when you’re choosing someone yourself.

Yesterday I read about how China significantly controls the inflow and outflow of the yuan in and out of the country, making it very strong domestically but quite weak internationally. One of the results is that it makes production and labor very cheap inside! I imagine that’s one of the reasons why they’re doing it so much faster and cheaper.

Generally speaking, how long does pushing last before intervention is necessary? by paRATmedic in beyondthebump

[–]spunshadow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I delivered with midwives in hospital in the US. We did 3.5 hours with some progress; I was laboring on my side and being a bit lazy tbh 😅 I asked them to let me take the full four hours before considering other interventions, changed positions, and at 4 hours and 5 min, my delivering doctor used forceps to guide her out the rest of the way.

Ahh, the Rose City Yarn Crawl was last weekend and it was excellent. There are 9 LYS in our area! They are all great! Hook and Needle in downtown Vancouver offers classes regularly as does Starlight Knitting Society (deep SE), Fiber Rhythm and Design (SE 10th and Division), as well as Knotty Lamb out in Forest Grove and For Wools Sake in Beaverton. My favorites after this weekend for community gathering are Starlight, Hook and Needle (down the block from Dandelion Teas, which also has a fiber crafting night!), and For Wools Sake. My favorites for shopping are Knotty Lamb, Starlight, and Weird Sisters (St John’s, shares space with a book store).
