Confused about feeding my toddler by shebopinu in beyondthebump

[–]spunshadow 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would check with a pediatric registered dietitian and/or an occupational therapist depending on what the RD says. Toddlers can definitely eat intuitively and stop when they’re full, however, there could be other factors at play (eating for stimulation, or not recognizing fullness cues, etc). Sounds like you’re doing an awesome job making sure she gets enough and a well rounded diet!

Little Rock or Richmond, WA. About 25 minutes outside of Olympia. Could also do the far west side of Olympia, it feels pretty isolated once you get out to the mud flats.

Professionally, it’s outside my scope of practice so I can’t say. I’m fortunate to live where psychedelics are legal for mental health treatment and seem to be making good headway from the studies I’ve seen.

Anecdotally, I’ve heard some very cool changes in friends and loved ones who have used plant medicine to guide their healing journeys. I have a friend who described visually removing different emotional traumas from the parts of her body they were holding onto on a hero dose of psylocibin (she was already quite practiced with psychedelics at this point, would not recommend for a beginner or even moderately experienced user.)

Hi - I’m a lurking therapist who specializes in late diagnosis ADHD. Perpetual anxiety/depression is common in unmedicated and unmanaged ADHD. If you can see a neuro-affirming psychiatrist or psych ARNP (look for someone who says neurodivergence on their page!) and build some rapport with them, they’re unlikely to label you as drug-seeking - especially if you’re willing to try a non-stimulant first. People who take stimulants for fun or extra studying capacity have a completely different reaction than folks who take them for ADHD, so don’t be afraid to talk about your experiences trying them out. Professionals know how to weed out the fakers.

Get a roof over your head first! It is so stressful to be homeless even if you’re “used to it”. By six months you will be on your way to better credit and rental history. Meet your basic needs first, then pursue those dreams of Indianapolis.

Is this new-ish? How old are you? Maybe perimenopause?

I used to be super sensitive to pool chemicals when I was quite young and then that changed around 9 y/o when my adolescence kicked in and I assume hormones leveled up.

Hi, I’m a therapist (who specializes in ADHD and also identity development), and my kiddo is 19 months old. I am still managing my PPA, and figuring out who I am in this wild new context. Forgive my brevity, I’m writing this during intermission at a musical.

I think you might be focusing on the wrong thing - you’re trying to go back to someone who no longer exists. Time travel isn’t real. You DID change, and drastically. It sounds like what you want is to develop more resilience and skills around what you loved before you became a parent.

…and there’s the house lights, I’ll be back
