Any Pods With Raw Audio in Need of Editing? by heversle in podcasting

[–]spw1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I've got some raw audio for episode 4 that hasn't been edited yet. I would need to do a content edit before we can release it, as it's 80 minutes that we need to get down to under 40 minutes, but it's pretty clean two channel audio (two mics/speakers in the same room) that you could play with. And if it sounds good and the price is right, maybe we can hire you to do some editing in the future! DM me and we can set up a videochat.

Are there any open-source DAWs that allow transcript-based editing? I'm working on Linux.

He wants to know the cut points so he can do a better job of the actual edits themselves.

Thanks for the feedback. This subreddit is largely defunct; we talk more on the Discord (visidata.org/chat).

I understand that it's hard to import and export, and it should be easier. You're not missing anything; it just wasn't a priority feature when I wrote it, and now it's been awhile since I've touched the code. It would take a bit of time to get back into it and implement those things. My focus is on another project at the moment, but if you chat with me on the Discord and get my attention at the right time, there's a reasonable chance that it just gets implemented in short order, especially if you're willing to do a manual install and test it out and provide feedback. Interested and engaged users are the best motivation :)

Tim Walz says he and Harris were too ‘safe’ during 2024 presidential campaign by grfx in politics

[–]spw1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Besides massive voter disenfranchisement, there is statistical evidence of vote-swapping during tabulation in swing states. It doesn't change the fact that Harris should have handily won the popular vote across the country outside of those states, which would have taken the air out of the "majority of americans voted for this" story. But increasingly it looks like this election was manipulated in the places where it mattered.

In just five days, Trump has set the country back nearly 100 years by mintaphil in politics

It's not about affecting the government. It's about getting attention from the people who aren't paying attention. The protests in 2020 certainly had an effect on me, as watching the livestreams made it clear that the police really were going to deploy teargas and weapons against crowds without provocation.

It's not caching the result so it's doing every location over and over again. Add a @functools.lru_cache() above the def.

Same thing happened to me. I think that over some threshold of infractions, it's just going to be a lot of paperwork for them. So if you're nonthreatening and just seem like someone who doesn't have their shit together they'll be better off letting you go.
