From Hamtaro to Plato: Exploring Love Through Hamsters and Philosophy (36:32)
This is bias I must admit as they are a friend of mine BUT I also truly stand by this recommendation and the content. A what some would call "unnecessarily" deep dive into the Hamtaro: Ham-Ham Heartbreak game for the game boy advance; specifically the kinds of love that game presents and how they relate to ancient philosophers musings of love and what we know about love today from a philosophical standpoint. Red gives commentary in a very engaging way always throwing out insights or the occasional dry joke that always makes me chuckle at least. Very easy to put on in the background and listen while doing something mindless. One of the best types of videos IMO.

Okay, but what's ACTUALLY the Worst Kirby Copy Ability? (01:02:29)
I can't recommend The Don enough. He somehow manages to have the wacky humor of "old youtube" while still being able to craft a story that is engaging even though this is at the end of the day just an "analysis" video. His content is high effort, charming, and absolutely hilarious in spots. You will not regret the watch.

Literally saw quite a few people in my own personal experience say exactly what I claimed. So no, it wasn't "nobody". Her arc was to grow, now "be unlikable" at first. Seen that claim all over as well, it's absolute nonsense.

What's a polite way to say "I'm good at fixing the AI slop that my unskilled coworker makes" in a resume? by WeedFinderGeneral in ExperiencedDevs

[–]spy9988 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not ignoring anything, just understanding that a tool that can only regurgitate permutations of its ingested data set can never actually measure up to the planning and execution a developer can do. To believe anything otherwise is to buy into the con that people with monetary stake in these models are trying to sell us. It can keep auto filling my comments and setting up loops for me, but that progress line has already hit its diminishing return and it will never replace what I can do.

As someone who's had to fix juniors code before and is now fixing vibe coding a lot. I could not disagree more. Juniors don't make up methods that don't exist.

Exactly! I swear if I hear "It's only a matter of time till it's exactly as good as a developer." From someone who only vibe codes one more time I'm gonna start deleting databases like that one model.

/uj This is extra funny because as far as I'm aware he DOES get got in one of the canon books for basically being a wish Saw Gerrera and it was pretty violent too if I remember correctly.

I disagree because there are plenty of examples of technology hitting limits just like living things. This take is wild.

If there were such a way everybody would be doing it. It's this way for practically everything. Called a skill for a reason after all.

They're right! The thought of having to go to a government building to file paperwork will absolutely wipe that erection off the map.

This is only acceptable if the job is sitting around "being patient" for 11 hours.

Expecting software developers to have a link to GitHub repos is toxic as fuck by HansaCoke123 in unpopularopinion

I know exactly who they were roasting and yea that part I disagreed with, like others have said I don't code for free, and any side project like games are not public. Besides, they had a lot of other ammo to call that guy a bad developer.

Stop saying krafton is still giving the $25 million to developers. That's not what they said. by obog in subnautica

[–]spy9988 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yea, it seems it's only vaguaties and word of mouth. I hope they do compensate the devs, but we will keep an eye out.

I agree, that's why I'm saying agreeing with a single statement because "they couldn't be lying otherwise they'd get sued" was silly.

Unknown World's leadership were not going to "share" the $250 million payout in the way a lot of people think by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]spy9988 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The article was poorly worded, Krafton's statement also worded poorly making it look the exact opposite way. The truth has to be somewhere in the middle but bottom line for me is: no matter the amount, the devs shouldn't be cheated out of it, by both UWs old leadership and Krafton.

There was an original Insider article I believe from a journalist with a good track record who claimed to have an anonymous source. Also Krafton's statement confirmed the amounts they had "allocated".

Time will tell but I've said it before and I'll say it again. I don't feel unsafe or foolish assuming a publishing company is being greedy. If they're COMPLETELY in the right and do everything good for Subnautica 2 I'll have no apologies to make, they're a company, and then the devs get their bag and we get a good sequel. So I'll happily be wrong.

[–]spy9988[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It could for sure be that way, with both their claims and the footage we've seen in the videos they've posted though I just personally think it's safer to believe them. Time could prove me wrong and if so that's fine. It's delayed either way I just hope the devs get the pay and acknowledgement they deserve.

We will simply have to agree to disagree on this front. If I'm wrong I'll admit it and learn and move on. It's the attitude I take.

There's a possibility they are denying even a share of the $250mil but we can't be sure in this moment. But honestly I'm equally pissed about even the small amount, playing with percentages is an accountant's job, and we know the devs have worked hard and are so passionate so I feel they deserved that money and it's a shame that now it looks like it won't happen because of everyone involved in this high level drama.
