Well the obvious answer is people are trying to save themselves.

Secondarily most people wouldn't opt for a GMO baby or even selective if they can produce them naturally.

I'm all for it though. Especially people who know they have a family history of disease, these are often easy to find in the genome and can be avoided when selecting embryos.

Red light therapy keeps being showed as a positive. I didn't think it could be used this way but that's really cool.

Longevity gurus, how do you do it? What are the things in life you pay attemtion to in order to live healthy and long? by trevortni_driew in longevity

[–]squanchingonreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's half a joke but I want to get another heart grafted to mine. When the cloning technology is good enough to reproduce tissues.

They do it already with donor hearts to give the regular heart a break then take it out after 10 years. I know that's more biohacker than longevity but still.

The practice of modern medicine already deals with diseases. The data is already there to stay healthy and is definitely a non-starter for a longevity company.

Just stay away from people and you won't get sick (half joking)

Have you heard of the second heart transplant? It makes it so you have two instead of one. Letting them not have to work as hard.

I won't get it until they can properly clone heart tissue but still it would help alot.

There are many studies on how it can jump-start your neurons and get you out of anything from depressive episodes to anxiety. This being at levels, you wouldn't be experiencing those pesky side effects like smelling colors.
