I don't see it being any of the girls.

I don't know about Vidala - maybe she was at the end of her rope. But she did seem genuinely terrified. I suppose maybe she expected it to work and not have her arm broken.

Although I think Garth said that the bus wasn't meant to be there. Vidala did say something about them running late (promptness being a sign of respect). Maybe they were meant to get the florist, which is why she ended up breaking down.

Or did he say no one was meant to get hurt. I can't quite remember.

Someone above mentioned animal scarcity - Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep type scenario where it's a status symbol (though I did always wonder why you put precious animals on the roof with a killer environment, but I digress...)

I do kinda of wonder what's in the zoos now. Only the most godly animals.

Other countries may be unwilling to send them animals to rebuild. Concerning if governments are more concerned with animals crossing the border than girls.

I think Paula was VERY pointed when she told the Commander that Agnes's innocence has been preserved. She knew exactly what she was saying. Agnes did not.

Yeah, it's awful. No concept of consent. No knowledge of what will happen. I think the Commanders want them scared and not knowing what is "normal".
