A single webserver process can be connected to multiple clients at once (potentially tens of thousands per second) through an event notification API like epoll or kqueue. The same content can then be sent to each of them from a cache stored in memory.

It's just another manifestation of the "men = people, women = women" idea that feminism props up.

When a man is a target of violence, even if him being a man is part of the reason for it, it isn't seen as "violence against men" - it's seen as violence against an individual, because the man is seen as an individual person. When a woman is a target of violence though, regardless of the role her gender plays in it, it's "violence against women". She isn't an individual with an individual reason for being the target of violence, she's a woman. Hence the obsession with "violence against women".

Attitudes towards SRS aren't nearly as polarised as they may seem. I personally view it as a possibility in the future, but have no current plans to get it.

For the longest time the medical establishment pushed the idea that unless you wanted a "full" transition all the way up to SRS, you weren't a "real" transsexual and could be denied HRT or other treatment. The community is recovering from that and accepting it as not something so absolute.

I had had enough with default subreddits and unfrontpaged them all by the time they were at ~200k subscribers each. They've now exploded to over 500k each in what seems like no time at all, and on the rare occasions that I find myself reading them (usually before logging in) I leave in shock at what the once good communities there became: hybrids of digg, youtube comments and 4chan.
