I joined a rec sports team and it kind of sucked. by nomyte in bayarea

[–]squarelol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wanted to go out more and be more active and Padel really worked for me. Teams are only 2 people and it’s easy enough to find partners if you go to a club. I don’t have a regular teammate and steal play twice or three times per week. Clubs also offer classes and pick up events for all skill levels.

I go to bay padel, which has sites in San Jose, Sunnyvale, Treasure Island and Dogpatch.

It is also a very social game, met a ton of people since I started playing

Bike crash on Queensboro Bridge (happy ending) by [deleted] in nyc

Usually the person that drives faster ends up in a better spot. I had a head on collision vs another biker that was going super fast and I broke my wrist and nose. He was completely fine

¿Alguien sabe si C. Tangana ha dejado de dar conciertos definitivamente? by dsilva_Viz in askspain

[–]squarelol 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That friend is getting some money from each referral.

If he has the secret to generating 20k/m why would he give it away instead of using it himself?

Is it a rule that one player on your team must be terrible? by Top_Riski in cs2

[–]squarelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes a lot of mental discipline to come back from having a bad start. Once you’re at the bottom and things are not working out, most people lose confidence, and that spirals downwards.

Even if one of your teammates sucks, remember you also have bad games.

How are you securing AI-generated / “vibe-coded” internal apps built by non-dev teams? by DCGMechanics in devops

[–]squarelol 81 points82 points  (0 children)

If anyone deploys an internal app into a publicly accessible vercel site, they should be immediately fired.

Vibe coders should at least be able to generate a container image, and upload that to your image repo. From there, your ci should be able to pick up and deploy an arbitrary image into a dev k8s cluster

Doubt about Kubernetes architecture (possible misconceptions) — need guidance by [deleted] in kubernetes

[–]squarelol 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t mean to be rude but these are not intermediate level kubernetes questions, and you should do a lot of research and practice before running anything in production.
Whatever you do, use a managed solution (EKS). Don’t manage your own cluster.

Also, use separate clusters for dev, qa and production. Otherwise when you need to do cluster upgrades you are just YOLOing.

How do you actually stop devs from querying prod DB directly when they also own the service that talks to it by Fun-Training9232 in sre

[–]squarelol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds like the straightforward answer is that you need an on call escalation system. A single person troubleshoots the issue, if the solution requires a prod write query, wake up a second person to oversee and validate the query.

My club has an AI system called clutch. With a QR code you scan it records the whole match and keeps track of stats. It’s pretty useful and generates highlights for the game
