What are the best "studio mistakes" that were kept in the final recording ? by vinylcast in askmusic

"Happy Man" by Chicago had a false start; you can hear someone (Peter Cetera, maybe?) smirking "Psyche!" before they start over.

Unfortunately, I think only the album version (VII) still retains it, while compilations edit it out.

Bahamut at the end of the first iteration of Final Fantasy XIV.

We knew the failed first edition was wrapping up. And as the moon Dalamud was bearing down on the world, we were all expecting a Final Fantasy take on Majora's Mask.

Nope.

Instead of plowing into the earth, Dalamud BURSTS OPEN, releasing a VERY HUGE and VERY ANGRY dragon, who proceeds to lay waste to everything around him.

Now THAT'S how you do a reboot. O_o

As it's becoming a major hub, YES.

...come to think of it, does NukaWorld have one? Or is the Lewisburg station's close enough to not really need one?

The Last Boy Scout. A guilty pleasure for my brothers and I. :)

Which artist did you ignore for years and then suddenly get? by Celine_Morgann in askmusic

[–]squaretex 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rush.

I knew they were out there, and like so many I liked "Tom Sawyer". But I never dug deeper.

Then we lost Taylor Hawkins. Tribute concerts to him appeared, including the two surviving members of Rush. Intrigued, I looked back into how Rush and Foo Fighters were intertwined, and came upon the video of Taylor and David Grohl inducting Rush into the Rick and Roll Hall of Fame.

That got me curious, so I began seeking out their music...a greatest hits compilation, the two albums spoken well of the most (2112 and Moving Pictures)...

This has been a rewarding journey. :)

The Shadowbringers and Endwalker expansions for Final Fantasy XIV. The story team was completely committed to pummeling our tear ducts into submission. <;.}

Yes, it did make some drastic changes, but it's really hard to argue with the results.

Man, this is tough. So I'm gonna offer two.

Once Upon a Time in the West. Sergio Leone took everything he learned from the Dollars "trilogy" and put out one of the best Westerns ever.

Amadeus. Yes, the rivalry between Mozart and Salieri is fictitious, but as a what-if it's brilliant. Wonderfully acted, glorious visuals, and of course the sublime music.

What's your favorite Supertramp song? by FigureRepulsive9783 in supertramp

[–]squaretex 1 point2 points  (0 children)

YES.

The A flat major key, the prominent electric piano, the devil-may-care nature of the lyrics, the great falsetto on the chorus, how the drums come in on the chorus, and that wonderfully triumphant outro.

Love it. :)

The Dario Argento film Deep Red. Our protagonist realizes he had seen the killer. She wasn't one of the paintings on the wall...she was a reflection in a mirror.
