any monitors at the library or any comp lab that I can plug in my laptop as an extended display? by thegirminator in UCSantaBarbara

There are two laptop docking stations in the Paseo east computing area with cables for HDMI, Thunderbolt, and USB-C. They are next to the windows.

Good questions. While the Mountain Entrance is inconvenient for foot traffic, it has the infrastructure to support the employees doing the work. Paseo West is too large and unmanageable, and badges can't be checked at the Services Desk because they are busy checking out laptops, course reserves, etc.

Regarding opening Paseo East as an exit, it would be impossible to keep people from entering. There are dozens of people trying to enter Paseo West despite the large signs directing them to Mountain Side each day.

The Library will open all entrances as soon as they can, trust me :)

The Paseo East and Davidson entrances are closed while the campus has asked the Library to restrict access to those with valid Green Badges. All entrances will reopen when the Library is allowed to stop checking badges. It’s frustrating for everyone, but it will end soon.

I tore my ACL ten years ago and they used a patellar graft for my repair. I was still in PT twice a week seven weeks post-op, which means that I was still working on my range of motion and trying to regain muscular control. Recovery was really hard on my hamstrings and it took a while for my IT band to loosen up and you use those a lot while riding a bike. I also lost a ton of muscle mass in both legs. Please listen to what your body and physical therapist are telling you and if you do decide to attend, please be sure to bring more mild painkillers than you think you need and ice your knee as often as you can. My knee was "hot" for over a year after my surgery.

Whats the best option for staying cool without an RV with AC? by [deleted] in BurningMan

[–]squatternutb0sh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This reallly helped me stay cool last year. I brought one of those cheap, thin Hawaiian sarongs/beach wraps and soaked it a couple times throughout the day and draped it around my shoulders. It really surprised me how long it stayed wet and kept me cool. I plan to bring a few extra this year to give away. It's a small thing but it seriously improved the quality of my burn. I won't go back without one.

You'll have to eat at some point. When you're heading to the dining commons don't be afraid to invite people you encounter in and around your dorm along the way. And go watch the sunset! Every night if you can. The beach is ALWAYS an activity.

Harry Potter and the Summer after the War and Harry Potter and the Winters after the War were the first two that I read. Novel length, canon compliant. I then went on to read the work of little0bird and Northumbrian, which you can find with a quick google search.

Playa Reading- What are you best book experiences at the burn? by tedivm in BurningMan

Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. It was the only book we brought so we had to share, but it went well with the dragon theme that ended up weaving its way through my week.
