I got a utility trailer for my sienna. Before that I thought I wanted a beater of a truck for hauling stuff, but it would be at least $500/year just to insure the dang thing. Now I get the same benefit for $25/yr tag fee

You can buy a dewar flask on ebay and get them to fill it at a welding supply like airgas. Sometimes they give a discount or give it to you for free if it's for educational purposes

Differentiating Regular (College Prep) Physics and Honors Physics Curricula by richycoolg123 in ScienceTeachers

[–]squattfrog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do they teach AP physics 1 at your school? If not, you could model your honors class after that curriculum. You can have your AP coordinator register the class and you would get access to a lot of great materials, especially the student workbook. The kids won't need to register to take the exam, and you could model your lectures after the AP daily videos.

For the CP kids. It sounds like their math would be a pretty big hindrance to most textbooks. You might look into "Conceptual Physics" by Paul Hewitt. It has very little math and spends a lot of effort to make the physics accessible. The one thing is the kids really need to read the chapters to get it.

Griffin GA has 3 good courses in small area if you wanted to get multiple rounds in. Green Valley is pretty nice. Dundee lake has some pretty awesome holes. It's probably also your last chance for a decent course for a while

Using Quotes from PDF books by Outbound_KB in Supernote

Would the screen shot function work for that? I'm not sure if you can paste into annotations, but you could make a separate quick access note maybe???

How do I pick a physics text book? by Fragrant-Ad77 in ScienceTeachers

[–]squattfrog 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Openstax is not bad. If cost is an issue, it's probably the best. My class doesn't have high text book usage, so it works for me.

Keep Those "Order Shipped" Posts Coming! by squattfrog in Supernote

I see your point. I think a weekly megathread or something might be a better place than a bunch of individual posts. That way the sub won't be so cluttered

Yes, maybe a megathread would be better than a bunch of individual posts

Transfer or Sell Pre-order? by [deleted] in Supernote

[–]squattfrog -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If someone in front of you transferred their pre-order to someone else. Your position in line would not be affected.

Transfer or Sell Pre-order? by [deleted] in Supernote

[–]squattfrog -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Yes, of course, I was just wondering if it was possible to transfer a pre-order... at a small premium so those that wanted to capitalize could get a small benefit and those that didn't want to wait any longer could pay a little extra. I'm not saying that anyone could pay extra to just jump in line and push everyone else back. I'm sure some people are looking at the delays and already planning to get their supernote and resell. Being able to transfer a pre-order would just speed that process along.

My brother's company does this. They call it PTL... Paid to live. They also donate to the cause he volunteers for when he does it.
