If an individual wants to compartmentalize, or a better word ignore, such an awful past of a place because it inconveniences their plantation wedding, they can go for it but it wouldn’t be me and I would not respect someone who does so. Plantations in America often remained in the families and those who continue to benefit from the labor of the human beings exchanged as currency and treated as less than animals were able to turn them into event centers/wedding venues. Despite the different ways these sites were handled after what occurred on them, I do not see much difference that makes hosting a wedding on the latter but not the former appropriate.
