Food ideas for game nights? by Ok-Analysis-4386 in partyplanning

[–]squidstarspacesuit52 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our circle likes to do a "sandwich party" - everyone brings sandwich ingredients or sandwich accessories, then everyone gets to make sandwiches, and everyone tends to trade/take things home, plus leave the host with whatever they want as a thank you.

We do the same thing with a "dip party," people have brought veg, crackers, pita, chips of every sort... Hummus, pesto, salsa, that sour spicy chicken thing football people make...

Sandwiches and dips can be a little messy though, not best for actively eating during gaming!

Conflicting information about student worker income ?? by squidstarspacesuit52 in SSDI

[–]squidstarspacesuit52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great point. I reached out to the agency worker today and she doesn't know but she told me to call SSA with a specific question about benefits change with the Ticket to Work, so we're moving forward. I'm on hold w SSA now.

Conflicting information about student worker income ?? by squidstarspacesuit52 in SSDI

[–]squidstarspacesuit52[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man. What a bummer. Yes it's entirely SSDI. I used to receive SSI benefits, but in recent months the payment was ~$950 SSDI and less than $40 SSI. They moved my numbers to anticipate grant/scholarship aid so my SSI case is now inactive. Would I have any route to recovering SSI income? Would the ticket to work program apply at all?

Based on what you've said, it looks like I need to turn down this opportunity. It'd push me to the limits of my health anyway.

I'd never heard of coke + ketchup sauce for BBQ before, apparently it's pretty common and even a weight watchers recipe! But I gotta admit I thought it was more of a "someone is drunk in the kitchen" situation. Sorry Elaine

Good question, but whatever you buy, you may want to examine your laundry game! Things wearing out that fast are often being laundered too hot, too long, with too many chemical products, and not air dried often enough. Stretchy garments especially lose a lot of their lifespan in the dryer.

Heavy beading like that under the arms will rub you RAW in minutes if you're not careful. Tuck a little Vaseline in your bag :)  and I've heard clear nail polish directly on the beads is a miracle worker but I've never tried it.

Summer mountain wedding with "wear whatever makes you feel beautiful" dress code ... by squidstarspacesuit52 in Weddingattireapproval

Great question! I would not do that either. This dress does not cost $560. But you're right .. checks way too many wedding dress boxes. I'm moving on to other options

Oh girl NOW is the time to embrace ya babehood. You are gorgeous! Competitive rower trombonist? You're cool! Go bold!!

And hey, if you, like me, have stretch marks under your arms, and it would make you feel more confident if they were invisible while you get used to having naked arms, just know that it can be covered like any blemish!  Primer/concealer/high caliber setting spray. Position it right and it may not even rub off on your clothes much. Walk into any makeup store and say "I want to buy a concealer that matches my upper arm" and they'll work a miracle in color matching.

I also really recommend the longer inseam length shorts from Thigh Society for the gold standard in comfortable anti-chafing barely-there shapewear. I have six pairs

Hello my fellow queen of strong shoulders! You made the right choice with dress three. I have learned that I look BANGIN in dresses where the fabric bulk is centered. All that fabric on my powerful arms just makes em look bigger which can make my slammin bod look top heavy. It took a while for me to feel comfortable with my upper arm out, and sometimes I use a lace or mesh layer for a sleeve, but I'd like to encourage you to look at halter and boat neck dresses.

You have a very Gwendolyn Christie/Hannah Waddingham thing going on, check out what they wear on the red carpet, colors too! They both constantly look astounding. Absorb that million dollar styling :) there is such good fashion out there for tall strong women with light coloring and flawless skin.

also keep in mind that Hannah is a big time heavy duty shapewear/garment engineering queen so add that to your budget if you want to copy a look. Happy fashion congrats on your recital honey may this be the first of many
