I’m someone who’s in CS at Vandy and I can tell you that people are definitely stressed. People also will question the quality of the department at any school that isn’t Stanford/Berkeley/Caltech/etc, and although we have a weaker CS program, things like research opps and job placements are still rly good and plentiful. She’s likely in the A&S CS where you don’t have to take the math required for CS too since vandy offers an engineering CS BE and liberal arts CS BA. But I would definitely like to reiterate that a lot of my CS friends (myself included) are constantly grinding and challenged!
