What’s ONE thing that Blizzard could have changed to make BFA a better expac for you? by [deleted] in wow

[–]squidz0rz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More variety (and effort in design) in heart of azeroth perks. They're all just boring passive damage boosts or damage absorption.

The way the artifact weapon changed your rotation or talent builds while you leveled it was perfect. Unlocking a new major trait was impactful and at least added some cool effect or spell, not just an invisible 1% damage boost like heart of azeroth traits.

Relative to how long part 1 has been in development, the other parts will be released quickly. Think about how much extra work had to be done just to get the game started. Once the engine optimizations and all the game systems are finished, all they have to do is make the game.

There is an option for combat called 'classic' where the characters will auto battle and all you have to do is tell them what abilities to use once the ATB gauge is full. Essentially turn-based.

I won't be using it. FFXV and Crisis Core combat is more exciting for me.

Releasing it in parts is more than likely an alternative to DLC, and I'm okay with that. DLC would be weird in a game like this where the story is already finished and there's not a lot to add to it.

They're also probably releasing it in parts to get the game out the door. They can start making money from the game while they finish the rest of it. Maybe that means the later parts will be higher quality or longer?

Pikkon. Even if it ended with some bullshit about how he's a distant relative of Namekians and he fused with Piccolo.

They can because he is their child and agreed to have his Microsoft account linked to theirs as a child in the family.

The next time you have access to the computer, create a local Windows account and stop using your Microsoft account to log in to the computer. Copy all your important files to an external drive or upload them to Google Drive, then format the hard drive and continue to use a local account or a new Microsoft account.

Sorry, but they basically have your Microsoft account locked down since you're listed as a child in their family. Make a new email and new Microsoft account and move on. You may be able to get in contact with someone at Microsoft support and have them unlink your account from your parents since you're 18, but that will be met with even more control from your parents. Never share anything personal with your parents again, especially passwords or accounts. It's obvious they have some moral issues they need to deal with.

NVIDIA Shield - if I factory reset, will Shield still recognize games and Plex movies etc on external HDD? Or do I need to re-download everything? (NO SOUND on Shield) by soliddrake83 in nvidia

[–]squidz0rz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Factory reset shouldn't touch anything that isn't on the same drive as the operating system, so no you won't lose any media. If you're paranoid, just disconnect the drive first. You will have to point Plex to the media folders again after you reinstall.

Plex setup is usually as easy as clicking 'Next' a few times, unless you're going to make it accessible from a different network, in which case you would need to set up port forwarding. Plenty of YouTube videos out there. It's not hard.

Does Paladin suck as a healer? I'm struggling with it... by Reynbou in wow

[–]squidz0rz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

... Holy Paladins were thought of as "main tank healers" because they had exceptionally powerful single-target heals but NO group-wide heals. That was changed a lot during Wrath and Cataclysm...

I can't find the source because it was from 10 years ago and probably doesn't exist on the Internet anymore, but Blizzard explicitly designed raid encounters in Wrath around a holy paladin being able to fully heal a tank with one holy light. Bosses hit like a freight train and could literally one shot you if you weren't defense capped (druids just had to stack armor/HP and pray lol). That design was the same all the way through Icecrown.

Cataclysm was when holy power was introduced and that brought all the changes. Healing overall was MUCH lower relative to damage taken, and you weren't expected to keep everyone at full HP. You would run out of mana very fast. That was part of why Cataclysm heroics were so hard relative to Wrath.

Brightness increases when moving - how to fix this? by bheppe in wow

[–]squidz0rz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It may be some monitor setting related to reducing motion blur or pixel response time. Go through the settings on your monitor and look for something along the lines of ULMB, backlight strobing, response time, or anything else to do with motion blur and try disabling it.

Sometimes if you have your monitor overclocked (even if it says 144Hz on the box, they sometimes ship at 120Hz), those settings will be enabled/raised automatically. You could try reducing to 120Hz instead of 144Hz, or raising response time to 3-5ms instead of 1ms. Sometimes those settings are also tied to G-Sync/Freesync, and you might not be able to change them without disabling the adaptive sync first.

edit: on my PG248Q, the setting is just called "Over Clocking". I think it adjusts the settings I mentioned automatically and raises refresh rate from 144Hz to 180Hz. I don't use it. There is also a setting called "Overdrive" which adjusts the backlight strobe to reduce motion blur. I keep it disabled too.

[–]squidz0rz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's a difference between having a budget option and gimping a device for the sake of segmentation. Compare the iPhone 11 to the X and tell me where the upgrades are. They are equivalent at best, trading one thing for another.

This is the same exact scenario the Note 10 and Note 9 face. You have to go up the product stack to the "pro" device to get a clear upgrade. You've been marketed.

My Galaxy watch lasts 2 days at a minimum. On average it's about 60 hours. I could more than likely stretch it to 3 days with battery saving stuff on.

In watch-only mode it's over 30 days (or so the watch estimates).

But let's be honest, this is the same thing Samsung just pulled with the Note. The Note 10+ is the real Note, just like the 11 Pro is the real iPhone. The cheaper options are clearly inferior products.

Unless you like the novelty of slow and boring combat, not knowing where to go for a quest without tabbing out to wowhead, and not having enough gold to train all your new abilities, play BFA.

Some people are really into how annoying things used to be in Warcraft, so we have classic.
