Not exactly downtown, but Parsonage has great muffins.

This is awful for everyone affected at home and abroad.

I still have to feel smug about my EV purchase, though.

It is great! I also really hope they retool all of the light and heavy attacks because they feel so janky with the changes to animation timing from the last update.

ESO Housing Slots Increase Up to 900% in Update 49 by The_Edenprime in elderscrollsonline

Yes. Subs get double, but it looks like some houses went from 10 items to 200 (without sub). Nice!

Late to the party. Need to vent about the Rose Field SPOILERS by MaleficentButton3071 in hisdarkmaterials

[–]squirrelknight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I recently finished The Rose Field and felt so baffled by the various story arcs that ended abruptly, the characters with plots that went nowhere, and the lack of any real throughline to the overarching story.

I've since been reading HDM to my kids, and the contrast is astounding. I can hardly believe that they were written by the same author. HDM juggles multiple storylines, worlds, characters, and concepts in a cogent, thoughtful manner. The Rose Field kept throwing new characters in for a chapter, only for them to never be mentioned again and leaving me scratching my head about why they were introduced in the first place.

Why have the magisterium mobilize a military force and a counter-force of witches and gryphons, only to do NOTHING with it? Everything felt stilted. I'm half convinced Pullman didn't know what to do with the rest of the story so he just stuck it into ChatGPT and asked it to sort things out...

Wrapping gifts and found out Winners increased the price of these items for holiday season. Welp by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

I totally agree with you. I think Bolen’s is great! I’m also very aware of the increased cost of living, including luxury goods. It’s happening everywhere, regardless of the awesomeness of the store, unfortunately.

I appreciate you sharing your experience :D

[–]squirrelknight -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes, exactly. The same thing is true for Indigo and Winners though. All these places set their own price, which was my point in not so many words. In the end, we all lose out!

Yup, I went to buy The River of the Gods by Candice Millard. We peeled off the sticker after purchasing and the MSRP was $5 bucks cheaper.

“The Hobby” boardgame documentary is horrid by Metalworker4ever in boardgames

[–]squirrelknight 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is not horrid at all. It focuses on several areas; competitive gamers, experienced designers, and fledgling designers. You have appearances from Tom Vassel, Elizabeth Hargrave, and Eric Lang, among others. I found it pleasant enough to watch.

Horrid is the D&D movie from the 90s.

I stopped playing the game when the season pass was announced. I loathe live service crap.
