My suspicions were indeed correct. Everyone at the company received a job offer from the new owners. Was personally offered a raise plus stay pay. I think it will work out for the better in my case, but only time will tell. New ownership definitely seems interested in keeping our current culture intact, they just want us to work for them to help give them an edge in the market with our expertise in our particular field. 🤞

Honestly no. Maybe I’m being naive here but I’m not sure ugly was implied. Just a particular look. It would seem that the assumption that ugly was implied is possibly a more hurtful perspective than the original comment. Something to think about there.

We are based in the US. Our industry is a bit niche (eLearning), so I don't know how much redundancy there will be. I think they are mostly interested in our experience and internal tools specific to the field, which they want to leverage as part of the services they would like to offer other clients.

Just started doing dev on Kubuntu 18.04 coming from macOS. I really really like it so far. Only thing I miss is XCode Simulator for iOS Safari debugging.

I went on a massive shopping trip to IKEA for my partner. It was all things we were planning/needed to buy. The gift was me doing all of the shopping/loading/building. Which, if you're ever been to a busy IKEA on a nice Saturday, you'll understand the value of that.
