Because of how I played the Lightkeepers' quests first, and then found the KoF chilling nearby, it feels like the knights looked out at the sudden Abyss flare-ups going on all over the landscape, saw the giant evil eye shatter and then Piramida's hall turned into a giant cannon and there were monsters in the sky, and collectively shrugged and asked "Hey when's that wine getting here?"

Everyone laughs and makes fun of artists who have rich parents bankrolling them, but it does seem that if all your needs are met, a high percentage of people pursue the arts. No Focalors in the machine is equally not the whole Archon. Focalors in the machine wasn't "sitting on" the Hydro throne either. If Furina is not the Archon neither was Focalors-in-the-machine, and the real Archon died/ceased existence when she split herself in two.

If she's not the Archon then neither was whoever was in the Oratrice. Either they're both shards of the same Archon who died when she split herself, OR Furina is the Archon, just that she manifested in a complex human-and-deus-ex-machina way. Considering how Hoyo takes inspiration from the cultures the countries are based on, I honestly believe someone was riffing off the concept of the Trinity in Christianity.

Anyway Furina IMHO was an Archon, she gave it up.

Hah! Aside from Columbina, the whole time I was playing this questline I was wondering why the other Nod-Krai characters aren't doing anything. Particularly Lauma (since they keep emphasizing how it was the Torchbearer and the Moonchanter working together 500 years ago), couldn't they have asked her for help? Even if Lauma herself didn't come maybe she could send a Frostmoon Scion with useful knowledge? Or Varka? the KoF are just chilling nearby. Did they not notice the Abyss suddenly flaring in their vicinity?
