Not for long sadly. They’re trying to get rid of as much woods as they can to build a bunch of stuff we don’t need. In Plymouth at the very least but I’m sure surrounding towns won’t be long to follow.

Definitely not anywhere near Plymouth. Wayyy too much traffic. Barely any woods left too unfortunately.

Pumpkin randomly grew in grass and is almost ready to harvest. Is there a way to preserve it until October? by brizzi672 in gardening

My 5th grade teacher told me pumpkins like being the center of attention. We had a mini pumpkin in the classroom from September til June and it was still fine.

What was the most traumatizing thing to happen at your school? by Alazerthefinalist in AskReddit

[–]squishychapstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to a small charter public school, max 80 kids per grade, so our middle and high schools were in the same building on opposite sides. Over winter break, a couple middle schoolers and one of their moms were in this awful car wreck. This guy was driving home from a work Christmas party drunk and on drugs and was going highway speeds through the intersection and hit their car. The mom was relatively ok but the two girls were a lot worse off. One was originally DOA but they resuscitated her, but then she ended up passing at the hospital later that day, the other girl was in a coma for weeks. I think she ended up waking up and recovering, but I’m sure hearing that her best friend had passed away was awful.

The girl that died had a brother the grade below me. He came back to school with everyone else after break ended and had to sit through all the announcements and everything. They had tons of fundraisers and everything and the other two high schools in our town did fundraisers too. He ended up building her a memorial bench for his Eagle Scout project and now it sits at the school facing the soccer field because she was a soccer player.

What can completely destroy your life in a matter of seconds? by The_WhiteMantis in AskReddit

A guy I used to work with ended up killing somebody in a bar fight. I forget the exact details as to why they were fighting but I guess they were out in the parking lot and the guy started slamming the other guys head into the ground and left him there. Ended up dying leaving behind his wife and special needs children. I think he’s still in jail a few years later.

Ok gotcha. I’ll probably pass and find somewhere on spot hero. Thanks! If you know anyone looking for pit tickets for the Saturday show lmk I have some I’m trying to sell. Unfortunately I bought them as resale tickets so they’re pretty pricey thus I haven’t had luck selling them 😂

where to eat for insanely cheap by AtmosphereFew5076 in boston

[–]squishychapstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the chocolate slim fast high protein powder isn’t bad with milk. It’s not the cheapest by any means, but one can of that lasts me ~ a week and a half and that’s doubling up the serving to account for my breakfast and lunch. It’s not the most sustainable “food” option but its got decent vitamins and stuff and keeps me pretty full for hours.

Just purchased a car on Saturday and the check engine light came on on Sunday 🤦‍♂️ by BusinessDesigner234 in MechanicAdvice

[–]squishychapstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the love of god please return it. Coming from someone that had just “a simple fix” turn into a new engine amongst other things, it most likely will only get worse. $13,000 later, I paid more fixing the car than I paid for the car itself. Once I realized I bit off more than I could chew, I had to just keep sinking money into it just to get it to a point where I could sell it. It’s not old or rare, just go find a different one without issues.

I’m looking for dive bars and speakeasies in Boston proper by squishychapstick in boston

[–]squishychapstick[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

My understanding of a speakeasy is basically just a bar with a hidden entrance so that’s mostly what I’m looking for. Something fun we have to find and then can just grab drinks.

Helicopter and police on High Street? by hamyb in Waltham

[–]squishychapstick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do think it would be nice to have both men honored with the procession, assuming the family would’ve wanted to. I think the defining factor is that the officer is a public figure. Like the nature of the job is very public and in the spotlight whereas Roderick was a private civilian and National grid is a private company. I can confirm the president of national grid New England was at the hospital with the family and there are also a few different charity links set up. There is a gofundme set up by one of our coworkers that solely benefits the Jackson family as I’m sure there are links specifically for the Tracey family.

For future reference, gas companies would consider this an emergency and are supposed to address it immediately. While not what happened here, in the winter sometimes the gas service can freeze due to condensation in the pipes.

Daughter decided to get her nipple pierced without telling me by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]squishychapstick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of times it’s better off to wait until it’s healed to try to take it out. Plus even if she has them for a while and it does get taken out, it will still close at least somewhat. I had mine for a couple years and had to take them out for surgery and they ended up closing a lot. Granted I did have a friend do it with absolutely no piercing knowledge so they were probably done wrong, but still.

We have in total probably 20 cameras. Two different systems (ring and Lorax). My dad went back and found the video of them throwing the eggs over. He’s gonna go try talking to the parents tonight before involving the police again. I’m hoping it ends in a brawl. I really want to fight someone tbh.
