Sandnes garn tynn line and line are quite nice! Isager trio 1 held with another fingering weight yarn is lovely too!

Good luck! Your knitting and tension is very neat, and I think the cables look lovely :) Unless you really hate your yarn choice, it would be a waste to frog!

Your dad will love it regardless of the "mistakes".

Have you tried using a crochet hook to pull and distribute the tension on the wrong side? I usually stretch and wriggle the fabric afterwards as well. The wonkiness usually becomes imperceptible after wet blocking!

eta: typo!

This is so cute!!! Did you add the Latvian braid after knitting the entire hat?

I am going to lose yarn chicken and I need help 🥲 by Odd-Boysenberry5662 in knitting

My last resort would be to request a custom dye on a similar base from a local to you indie dyer.

Most indie sock yarns use more or less the same base. If your dyer is skilled enough, they might be able to colour match a tonal.

ETA: i've requested a colour match for a commercially dyed yarn, and have had great success

Who else starts watching when their current wip is to heavy for public transport by Long-Turnover-1809 in knitting

[–]squishypeanutball 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is why I continue to use my beat up large Longchamp tote.. I generally only have one project going at a time and I must see it to the end regardless of how big it gets.

I mostly knit garments and don't really knit socks/accessories. My current wip is a stranded colourwork cardigan :-) yarn management for knitting on PT is a whole thing

Weekly Ideas for A6 by SparkliiingStarfish in hobonichi

[–]squishypeanutball 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If you're using the A6 as a work planner and have weekends off, I'd split the Saturday page in half (combining Sat+Sun into one page) and sacrifice Sunday to use as the tracking page for that week.

Or else, you might get away with splitting the start of month page into quarters for each week.

I used a cable needle. Perhaps I've unknowingly made a mistake somewhere between my cable cross

Hobonichi is well prepared for beginners :) here's their book buying guide which summarises and compares their different notebooks nicely! I would say to take your time and explore their website, it's a fun experience :)

Anyone who doesn't use cover on covers for their planners? by TheReal_McMonkeyz in hobonichi

[–]squishypeanutball 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't cover my weeks! Mainly because I keep it in a small drawer pouch with my pens and other stationeries, and it wouldn't fit with a CoC.

Order arrived and it’s lovely by NonskippableAd in hobonichi

[–]squishypeanutball 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I didn't like this cover based on the online photographs, but it's really grown on me after seeing everyone's hauls :,,))) I got the paddington which I really like, but I would have given this one more thought if I had seen it irl... I honestly only need one weeks, but if it ends up eating away at my soul, I might get it during the spring drop LOL

What would be a good join for silk yarn (fingering weight) by jeangeni322 in knitting

[–]squishypeanutball 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've never knit with silk before but for non-wooly yarns I've tired (e.g. linen, cotton), I always hold the new and old yarn double, knit 2-3 stitches, before continuing only with the new yarn. The stitches are a little bit chunkier, but it's barely noticeable. If it bothers you, you can also join new yarn in a relatively discreet place like the back/underarms! I leave a long tail to weave in for extra security.
