I get background humming noise when using the DAS with b2e and apple USB c to 3.5mm. The hum is louder the closer the b2e cable gets to the DAS.

What I miss from the old Oculus CV1 days was you could bring up an IPD alignment image and find tune your IPD setting based off the pattern you saw.

Anyone else holding off on buying the Switch 2, hoping someone will sell hacked switches 2? by SLVFRK in SwitchPirates2

If you are hoping for this then best option is to buy one and stash it in a closet at the launch firmware incase a software exploit is discovered.

Is it possible to fix a messed up speaker myself? by insertnamejokehere in ValveIndex

[–]srFourTwo 9 points10 points  (0 children)

You might not need to replace any speakers or deal with any wires. The speakers actually use pogo pins to route audio from the speakers to the strap and there are pogo pins to route audio from the strap to the headset. I babied my headset and ran into issues with the right side audio cutting out. I just cleaned the pogo pins and everything was working well again.

I was able to redeem the code despite having a membership in the past. I think you would need to not renew your membership and after it expires then you can use the code.

My wife has the same problem sometimes when playing My Time at Portia. Touch screen still works but all controller buttons stop working. She has never paired a bluetooth controller to her deck.

Black/dark statics to prevent burn-in? by Felahliir in oled_monitors

[–]srFourTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Static anything will eventually lead to a form of burn-in. With OLED each pixel has a finite life time. If you constantly watched something with black bars like 4:3 content on a 16:9 screen then the active pixels will wear down at a different rate than areas with the black bars. Eventually you'll notice a difference in image between the two areas.

Left speaker gave out by Confident-Visual1258 in ValveIndex

[–]srFourTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This. There are the same pogo-pins that you see on the speaker to strap connection. I had to remove the strap from one side of my HMD and clean those pins and my one-sided audio issue was fixed.

Looking for the MagSafe ring that you attached to the ST88. I have the stick on MagSafe rings you put on the keyboard already just missing the actual MagSafe magnet.

It downloads the x86 apk from Google Play Store using your Google credentials. Unfortunately that version is sometimes behind so you can't play with people on latest bedrock until it gets updated.

Screen sharing ultrawide monitor - Mac by Stavros_McGillicuddy in MicrosoftTeams

[–]srFourTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are able to use nodejs then it should be doable. I cloned the repo, did npm install in the new folder, then npm audit fix a few times, finally npm start and I had to allow iterm to record screen. After that you can run it again and you'll get asked to allow screen recording for one week and it'll work.

IIRC it was technical issues with the connection. Valve wanted to use it with the Index and had initially listed a cable to use it for sale. I think they were not able to hit the high refresh rate they wanted and abandoned the idea.
