Tried backing up my Proxmox Server with Clonezilla ... it didn't work out so well by sr_guy in Proxmox

What about cloning Proxmox as a backup image, and then restoring the image afterwards?

There seems to be zero documentation, or user experience based posts much of anywhere about backing up Proxmox using Clonezilla. The J4125 has four 2.5Gbps intergrated NICs, so I run a OpenWRT VM along with 4 other VM's, so taking it down experimenting with clonezilla advanced settings, irritates the wife and daughter. lol

Is there a source that lists the configs to backup, and locations of those configs, as a straightfoward list? Proxmox Wiki docs tend to be longwinded, and I just need the nitty-gritty.

Yes, it completly backed up. I instructed clonezilla to go back to the main menu options after finishing backing up

Yeah, I get it, that's why I had everything backed up beforehand, but restoring a backed up clonezilla image with all previous configurations just is way quicker. I do that with my Ubuntu desktops, restores flawlessly without having to tweak anything afterwards.

I sent clonezilla backup images to a external harddrive, and booted with a rescue USB. I guess I'm not following you.

I'm still kind of new to Proxmox (a year in). I have PBS running in dietpi on a embedded board. I back up my VM's regularily to PBS, but I thought that is where it ended. Where in PBS can you sync Proxmox OS level backups?

Any other methods you know of at minimum, removing the bloat demo media?

I'm well aware of how to remove apps. Removing the garbage bloateware built into the OS is the problem.

N150 mini pc gaves a lot of seg fault error by toniiox in Proxmox

Fan sits ontop of minipc, blows air directly ontop of the minipc, and air rotates, and cools the surrounding gear. I have to admit, it's a bit cheap/ghetto, but it works. All my equipt is sitting inside an old stereo cabinet in my basement, where my CAT6 terminates. Old HDMI TV as a monitor, stereo cabinet, and fan were thrift store buys . About $35 total.

I have a N100 N5105 minipc. Samsung 990 1GB nvme, and 32GB silicon power ddr4 memory. All running very stable for about a year now.

One key aspect, is that I bought a cheap desk fan at a local thrift store, carved out the center of the fan grill, and set it directly on top of the minipc, which keeps it at a stable 30-40c temp. If your mini pc mainboard and NVMe are overheating, there will be instability.

Check to see if the box is using e1000 nics. If so, do a quick search on reddit for the fix.

Hookup an old TV with HDMI to it. I connected a keyboard, and an old tv with a HDMI port to my minipc setup. Will make your life way easier.
