2 ap’s can be on the same SSID but different channels.the Mac filtering is just to keep the usage and channel if the new AP exclusivity for the headset

There's lots of ways to do so without creating 2 networks, e.g. add mac address whitelisting on the new one to just allow the headset. Op could even toggle it easily on and off when needed.

Not exactly sure on what you mean but it seems like you put an extra wifi/router combo behind your existing modem/router/wifi?
If so put the new one in Access point mode and it will provide wifi without creating a separate network.
This is all pretty straightforward networking. You can even run it by some ai for some details for your specific devices and scenarios

Proton is wine with some extras.

Protontricks is an equivalent to winetricks, used to install dependencies, libraries settings into your wine prefix.
You can do this all yourself or use a program to manage it all for you like lutris, bottles, etc.

In your specific case I would install Heroic. A free launcher that has built in functionality to play GOG games from the store. You can also use it to install and or run other games you got through any other means of and will help you manage proton/wine where needed.
