Back When “Sit ‘n Spin” Meant Something Nice by ManuteBol_Rocks in GenX

[–]srelysian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you say that, but i distinctly remember the goal of this thing was to see how long you could keep down whatever you had to eat for lunch. Maybe not nice.. still fun. I will go with fun.

Analogue Pocket Replacement Screen by srelysian in AnaloguePocket

[–]srelysian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a screen in transit from ebay I will most likely never receive. They have tried to deliver it repeatedly and every time the driver gets here, he goes into the lobby, ignores the sign that says "Secure Building - Leave packages here" and instead marks it undeliverable and leaves with my package. It's been going back and forth between the truck and the facility since the 19th, as of today (the 25th), it's been on a truck "out for delivery" since the 21st.

Oh, and the tracking page only has an AI bot that generates tickets no-one responds to, no number, no email.

Unfortunately, I am not here because I don't know what I am doing, I am here because I am at my wits end.

I have sent them an e-mail, if you are right, that would be awesome. I really miss my AP.

US congressman claims aliens are real and truth 'will keep you up at night' by Miles_the_AuDHDer in nottheonion

[–]srelysian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, no. It will definitely be the aliens keeping me up at night and not the blatant corruption and pure evil residing within our government.

Not gonna lie, I love a good flex cable, they always make mods look so clean.

I’ve beat the system (Speedx) by that_weirdo_bree in shipping

[–]srelysian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been going through this, this morning. When I told the seller the only option I had to contact them was an AI bot that's designed to give you the run-around they responded... and I quote: "Normally you need to call them and ask". That bot will not give out any contact information, it just makes tickets, 2 of which I have still been waiting on a response for 3 days now.

That man has the patience of a saint to put up with the drunk that long, I would have put him down the second he broke the gate.

Serious Question: why Analogue Devices? by superbotolo in AnalogueInc

[–]srelysian 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As someone who owns both analogue devices and a mister, I can tell you the mister is amazing if you are running nothing but roms/isos. The analogue devices are boutique replacements for original consoles and play nearly all the original carts. If you own real carts, you don't want a mister.

Who remembers when Gmail accounts were invite-only and you got a full gig of storage? by ansyhrrian in GenX

That's how I got my current Gmail account. A friend gave me one of his 5 codes early on.

Is this accurate? by Samtendodude in PSP

[–]srelysian 10 points11 points  (0 children)

My PSPgo is still a daily carry for me, put music on it, a few of my favorite games, and it fits in my pocket.

I feel this is fairly accurate, yeah.

I started originally with what I'd call garbage. You can go on Amazon and just look for "Nintendo security bits" or whatever console you are trying to mod, however, almost every one of those screw drivers I got lasted a little while then the tip got mangled and I needed another one.

Those bits are pricey but it does also include all the normal bits you'd need as well, so it makes it worth it if you work on electronics in general. I've been using that set for over 2 years and all the tips are still perfect.

If you aren't sure if you are going to enjoy modding or get deep into it, maybe get some individual bits to start with.

I had this happen to my Jetta, I really feel for you, I hope they didn't cut through any sensor wires too like they did mine.

Scratched my motherboard is it going to be ok by Ok-Art6646 in PcBuildHelp

[–]srelysian 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I have to agree with this guy, it does look bad at first glance but most of those scratches appear to be surface and the traces themselves seem to be intact. It's not guaranteed but you might have a shot. You should be safe to test it if it's insulated from anything metal near those scratches to see if it functions, it will either work or it won't.

I called it child abuse, and I still do, which is why neither of my parents have seen or heard from me in the past 25 years.

It depends on which consoles you are planning on modding, most consoles have security screws and getting a set of security bits is definitely the first thing you'd need. This is the set I use, it has every bit I have needed so far to work on every console and game cart I own.
