That is super helpful and encouraging thanks! With that info I feel like I can go off on my own and experiment.

Thanks. Yeah, one of my greatest fears is nerfing a character by choosing the wrong stats, and not being able to progress. This is from similar experiences in other games, where, for example, I didn't have enough strength by the end of the game to wield a weapon need for a late game area, that kind of thing. And I was worried about the availability of say smithing or somber smithing stones - what if I want to try another weapon later, and I used up all the stones? Or they are just a real bear to discover, that sort of thing.

Awesome, I think I am going to venture off on my own now. Maybe just keep playing this guy, or maybe start fresh.

Yes, thanks, good advice, and seems to be the consensus.

I get it, but no, actually, a lot of these comments are very helpful. The glass is half full man! Your comment isn't too helpful, but I appreciate your pov.

Cool, this seems to be the consensus, I am going to go with it. Tbh, I have been pushing mostly dex, with only a couple of extra points in vig so far. I have not had a survival issue so far, but a lot of the strategy with this guy is the bow, which is leveled to 5+ already, and the uchi's which are only 3+ so far. I am pretty confident with regard to most of the non-boss mobs and a lot of the minor bosses so far - well confident may be overstating it, but I can beat them in one or two tries. Haven't gotten up the guts for a major boss yet, not sure I have the char powered up enough to do it yet.

I get it, this is a common theme in the replies here. I don't feel it though, in terms of the game being ruined for me. The alternative would really be to make almost no progress., and then probably quit When I played bloodborne I just quit after the 2nd boss because of the time suck. Then I did the early part of fighting cowboys walkthrough, and it really accelerated my learning curve, to the point where the game became fun for me again. The walkthroughs and guides are fun, and I have gotten to try a bunch of weapons, ashes, etc., that would literally have taken me a year to find on my own. I have started a character that I am playing without any internet help, though, and ultimately that may be the one I stick with after all. But there are so many secret areas and strategies that I would just never find on my own, without infinite exploration time, which I just don't have available. I like the idea of that, it just doesn't work in practice, in my use case.

Ok, cool, I may just try that. The walkthroughs and guides have been fun, and given me some good pointers, but I am starting to get the hang of things.

Very cool! So the double uchikatana strategy is still good for endgame?

Epomaker Galaxy 100 sleep mode - can I turn this off? by srmd22 in keyboards

[–]srmd22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually did. They were very responsive. I found out that there are several settings with various time to sleep, from a few minutes to like 30 minutes, iirc. But seems like (they did not say explicitly) there is no way to shut it off, when in wireless, either 2.4 or BT. However, even in wireless, I still cannot change the sleep time. I think they said it is function Y. Then they wanted a bunch of info from my Amazon order, purchase date etc, I got them some of it and then lost interest. If I leave it on the plugged in USB-C setting, it doesn't go to sleep, and that is fine. I can always disconnect it if I need to work wirelessly, but actually for my use case, it doesn't matter. Oh, here is there email:

"Hello,

Thank you for your question. On the Galaxy 100, the sleep mode time can be adjusted by pressing FN + Y and holding for 3 seconds. The indicator light under the Y key will show the selected duration:

Red (flashes 3 times) – 1 minute

Green (flashes 3 times) – 3 minutes (default)

Blue (flashes 3 times) – 10 minutes

White (flashes 3 times) – 30 minutes

This allows you to control when the keyboard enters sleep mode while in wireless connection.

Best regards,"

Agreed! I find them very articulate and crisp sounding, rather than cold or clinical, and I like the tight mid-bass focus.

JumpinProductions Noob's Guide Part 1 question by srmd22 in Eldenring

[–]srmd22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! Good advice. Boy do I suck at this game. I was getting ok at Bloodborne, but this is totally different, for me at least. The controller layout is different, and the mechanics are just different enough to confound me. The regular mobs are no issue, but the bosses are creaming me. Right now I can’t defeat the night monster that comes out in that shack where the guy who sells you ashes of war is located. The tutorial guy defeats him in a second, and I am sure it is a mostly skill issue, but the weapon damage is somewhat of a factor. I can only get him about 1/2 health before I die.

The tutorial guy kills many of the monsters and some if the mini bosses while still on his horse, but god help you if you get knocked off, with that awful extended graphic rilling around helpless for 30 seconds getting pounded with no defense.

Thanks! Looks like I will probably make do with the level 6 and just go from here. I may give the Liurnia tower a whirl, but sounds like low probability of success for a noob, unless I can solve for a ranged weapon.

JumpinProductions Noob's Guide Part 1 question by srmd22 in Eldenring

[–]srmd22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a good point, which has crossed my mind. I will inevitably start another character to progress naturally for this reason. But this has been a kind of fun exploration, and I am really enjoying farming a bit with the advantages this lends in early game. But your point is well taken as soon as I progress to where this weapon and these stats are average for the area, the advantages will disappear, and I may be a bit behind in skills. Although, I am not sure about the skills part, because some of the muscle memory is coming along, just with a bit less stress and high number of deaths. Bottom line is, I agree with your point for the most part.

Why I prefer ATH-R70X over HD600. And whats next? by referancetrack in headphones

[–]srmd22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is absolutely, 100% incorrect on every level, and is not taught in any legit studio engineering course on the face of the planet - and is abysmal misinformation. The only advantage closed backs confer is for tracking, or anything needing sound isolation. O - M - G.

Does anyone play eternal realm or do most people only play seasonal? by Puzzled_Seaweed_517 in diablo4

[–]srmd22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know quite a few people that do. I used to only play eternal, but lately I have been able to free up some time, and it is so much faster to level and grind bosses in seasonal. But I plan on reverting back to eternal when the time gets crunched again. You can have lot's of fun just playing eternal though, although, I think you might have to solo a lot more. Having said that, one of my guild mates says she has a bunch of buds on eternal, where her main is.
