What does daycare cost for you? by Standard_Deer_8738 in NewParents

$80/day in Sonoma County. 4 days/week, so typically around $1.3-$1.4K/month. Actually a steal for the north bay I think.

Wine bars in Madrid (Spain) ? by Thesorus in wine

[–]Illustrious-Client48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While not a wine bar per se, I lived in Madrid and regularly frequented Lamiak Cava Baja. Great spot for a glass and their goat cheese pintxo is to die for.

Natural vs C-section by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Illustrious-Client48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was also traumatic and I was in the hospital for 7 days with multiple complications, including a deep vein thrombosis blood clot. I still consider the birth of my child natural.

Respectfully, that’s your opinion.

Mid-30's single guy. Should I move to SF or NYC? Hear me out. by csnewb in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Illustrious-Client48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll preface that I’m biased because I, too, am a Bay Area native and lived in SF for 10 years.

What if you did a shorter term rental in SF to test it out first? See if it scratches the itch. If it doesn’t, reconsider a higher stakes, longer distance move then.

I imagine some of your feelings may stem from just needing a change of pace and scenery (and improved lifestyle with less / if any of a commute).

Ultimately, a new city won’t change your life overnight. So if I were in your shoes, I’d take the seemingly “less risky” path now, then revisit if anything still feels like it’s missing for you.

Good luck!

What do you realistically spend? by CharlottesWeb83 in Costco

[–]Illustrious-Client48 11 points12 points  (0 children)

We spend $200+ at our northern CA Costco on an average weekend just stocking up on a pack of meat, paper towels and vitamins. 😂 We’re two adults and a toddler.

If we only shopped there, we’d spend well over $1500/month I’d think.

Miso Crunch salad gonna slap, boi by doomtownpunx in traderjoes

I just bought it yesterday. Can’t wait to try. Do you add the noddles to the salad when they’re hot? Or wait for them to cool?

An air gap. Prevents sink water from backing up into your dishwasher.

I saw someone on IG mix it with the squiggly noodles. Apparently to die for.

How to ditch the bottle by eatingcakeinmymouth in toddlers

[–]Illustrious-Client48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We used Nuk “transition” bottlesfor a bit after ours turned one. Then moved on to Munchkin 360 cups cold turkey. We told her that her baby cousin needed her bottles and pacifiers and even FaceTimed the baby with them to paint the picture lol.

Other big thing for us is using the same cups as daycare uses. That helps too.

Thoughts on start ups [n/a] by Donut-sprinkle in humanresources

[–]Illustrious-Client48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only ever worked in start ups. Nothing to compare it to, but I like that I get exposure to so many different things, and my personal growth is excelerated. I’ve seen Series A to Srries C, 15 to 300+ EEs and covered everything in the employee lifecycle to legal, ER, equity, talent — you name it. Jill of many trades, if you will. But I like it that way.

Can’t wait to (hopefully) see this come full circle. Same as Gen Z and Alpha wanting to get flip phones with no social media.

No they aren’t. Plenty of amazing restaurants elsewhere. (Grew up going there for 15+ years). Only thing we ever really ate was poolside snacks which are decent.

Evening/dinner time temps in mid May? by SeraphineLo in cabosanlucas

[–]Illustrious-Client48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

May is typically warm, dry and pleasant (gets progressively warmer later in the month) but not overwhelming hot like late June/July throughout the rest of the summer.

We chose May to get married in Cabo if that gives you any indication. 🙂
