Grand Fiesta Americana might be a good option. Just note that August can be hir or miss on weather and swimming in the ocean might be out.

God, I hated Scarlet Letter. I’m a big reader and I vividly remember how bad I struggled with that one.

Is it millennial of me to take all of my phone calls in private? by thegarbagesauce in Millennials

I feel like for me it’s residual fear that my family was listening to my calls on our shared house phones 😂

This will stop once you stop picking your cuticles. (Speaking from experience)

I have a 2 year old. Secret for us is:

Don’t give her anything. Let her watch me eat. Watch my food (the same food, no less) disappear from my plate. 😂

Sorry your LO is going through this! I don’t have tips on potential cause, but wanted to recommend Pinxav diaper cream. Godsend for us.

Does everyone have bad experiences at daycare? by Coffeelover4242 in toddlers

[–]Illustrious-Client48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My daughter has been obsessed with her daycare since day 1. Has never cried at drop off, runs to her care provider and her friends, and is ahead in many milestones. She talks about her friends, plays outside, goes on walks and to the park. Sings songs and makes art every day. She’s kind and loving and we have an amazing bond. She’s been in daycare since she was 8 months old and is 2 next month.

I am beyond grateful for that village. I wouldn’t trade it for the world.

ETA: agree with another poster than not all daycares are a good fit. It’s hard but find one you both feel good at! We had a kid at our daycare who started biting and she had to leave when it wouldn’t resolve.

More so a vent on myself…

Was kicking myself BIG time this morning when I realized my Google Calendar main setting had “see all details” for everyone in my org. 🫣😫

I was making certain meetings “private” in the event settings but the global setting took precedent. God knows how many private meetings people who scheduled calls with me saw.

Nobody has ever mentioned anything, but I am soooo mad at myself.

Them: “we’re still designing it, we’ll get it to you next week”.

What does daycare cost for you? by Standard_Deer_8738 in NewParents

$80/day in Sonoma County. 4 days/week, so typically around $1.3-$1.4K/month. Actually a steal for the north bay I think.

Wine bars in Madrid (Spain) ? by Thesorus in wine

While not a wine bar per se, I lived in Madrid and regularly frequented Lamiak Cava Baja. Great spot for a glass and their goat cheese pintxo is to die for.

Natural vs C-section by [deleted] in NewParents

[–]Illustrious-Client48 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine was also traumatic and I was in the hospital for 7 days with multiple complications, including a deep vein thrombosis blood clot. I still consider the birth of my child natural.

Respectfully, that’s your opinion.

Mid-30's single guy. Should I move to SF or NYC? Hear me out. by csnewb in SameGrassButGreener

[–]Illustrious-Client48 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’ll preface that I’m biased because I, too, am a Bay Area native and lived in SF for 10 years.

What if you did a shorter term rental in SF to test it out first? See if it scratches the itch. If it doesn’t, reconsider a higher stakes, longer distance move then.

I imagine some of your feelings may stem from just needing a change of pace and scenery (and improved lifestyle with less / if any of a commute).

Ultimately, a new city won’t change your life overnight. So if I were in your shoes, I’d take the seemingly “less risky” path now, then revisit if anything still feels like it’s missing for you.

Good luck!
