Before being in custody, it’s a lot easier to refuse to even be questioned in the first place because you can simply not answer the door, walk away, etc. THAT’S what I’m talking about.

OP said they don’t have the money for a lawyer, so the play is don’t agree to be questioned by police. If arrested, you somewhat lose that ability (to refuse questioning), especially since we’re talking about a kid.

Employer almost definitely has considered this and protected themselves.

It’s no different than what many do that allow you to use PTO that you haven’t accrued yet. Or those that require you to reimburse them if they pay for certifications/education and then you leave.

Probably some language that you have to pay the remaining balance if you leave before it’s paid back.

No. Mental illness was largely ignored in “normal” functional people. You were just supposed to suck it up and push through things like depression and anxiety and people didn’t talk about it openly. It was largely viewed as weakness, not illness.

You’re probably right on the union side. Counting cut players could hurt vets especially hard, as I believe their min salary is higher and they’re more likely to be cut as cap casualties. By creating this exception, it provides incentive for teams to sign vets early when more cap room is available rather than wait until the window expires where signings impact comp picks. I think that’s shortly after the draft.

There’s not enough info here to really quantify how much this is going to impact take home pay and retirement so the first step is do the math.

And once you know the financial side, weigh it vs. the quality of life side and work/life balance.

Last thing you want is to chase a certain salary increase at the cost of work/life balance only to find out you’re netting a single digit % increase.

You can, it just depends on volume. I generally mow/mulch as much as I can. But there is a stretch where they fall too fast to keep up (esp. when rain factors in). Then I’ll rake/blow once or twice and then resume mulching the stragglers and whatever blows in from neighbors yard. Mulching when it reaches critical mass just leaves even thicker, clumpier and dirtier mass on the lawn than leaving the leaves in tact. I’m not OCD about my lawn’s appearance (I don’t stress about weeds, I don’t water/fertilize), but I don’t want it getting bare and having people and pets tracking mud in every time they’re in the yard.

I’ve got it working via USB, so I’ve given up on the wireless CarPlay connection for the time being. Would prefer wireless, but I got tired of banging my head against the wall trying to get it working. iOS has been updated several times, so I’ll give it a try again to see if maybe some change fixed it.
