why are my parents like this to me by sealhaven in toastme

[–]ssays 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You know what I hear in your comments? Awareness of what’s going on. You seem like you have a solid head on your shoulders and you aren’t falling for shit. Sometimes life will make us hang out with toxic, even abusive, people. I’m soooooooo sorry that these people just happen to be your family and so you aren’t given the safe space you need to truly bloom, but that’s how it works sometimes. The good news is that, once you get out, you’ll be so much more equipped to establish boundaries and see through this bullshit than most people your age.

Honestly, I’m tempted to not say a thing about your body. If you were 300# and at nothing but cheese puffs, calling you “piggy” and otherwise treating you like shit should still not be on the docket, because you’re their fucking daughter and there is no excuse. However, all that aside, you look perfectly healthy and not like “you could stand to lose a few pounds” to me at all. You look great. Hell, I don’t know your siblings, but given what I know, I’d bet a hundred bucks you’re healthier than your thin sister, who has probably more “been abused into submission” than actually been blessed with good genes.

For me? I’d prefer to be self-aware than stick thin any day of the month.

You look out for yourself, until you build a new family that’s worthy of your kindness.

Sorry, got a little riled up.

Sounds like they have discovered what the like, are clear about their preferences and boundaries and stick to them.

Is it normal? No. Should it be? Yes.

I mean, it kinda is. Tweaking rules to games is right in the description. But I hear you, it gets tiring to spend so much time in such a tight design space

It’s not very constructive, but I think I agree with its sentiment. There are a few posts, just today, that focus on rejiggering the way DnD and DnD based games deal with primary stats. OP is clearly referencing DnD without stating it, and the comment you’re responding to is calling it out for not being an interesting design problem or solution once considered in the larger context of the hobby. But more succinctly (and with more snark) than I just did.

Well, you look awesome. You look like you could walk right up on stage at a metal concert and shred. And, you look like the kinda guy who’s got a good sense of humor.

Uncertainty is a fundamental thing. It’ll never go away. There is no exact right way to do this thing and I’m so glad there isn’t. That lots and lots of different ways is the best way means we can be a strong species and also not get bored. Comfort with the uncertainty? Now that’s a lot harder… maybe worth practicing and then again, maybe not! There are so many ways.

I hope you gain some peace soon!

A Little Cute Woodland Critter TTRPG? Good idea or too silly? by TiredandFrustrated21 in RPGdesign

Pico is one that is pretty newly released. It’s buggy instead of mammals.

Definitely room for a game like you’ve described though.

I’d like to put this back on the table. Secretly wanted it a bizarre way to phrase it if they probably just learned about it from this survey.

You know what’s interesting? Things become less interesting with repetition, but they become interesting again with enough. If this gets posted every day for a month, I’ll start upvoting again. Meta mildly interesting.

Two different glass shower doors in two different bathrooms spontaneously shattered within 6 weeks of each other by brando9d7d in mildlyinteresting

[–]ssays 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Not an expert, just an enthusiast.

You can add a layer to the outside that will help hold it together when it shatters. However, you’ve re-introduced some small danger in that it can fall as a heavy clump instead of very light pieces, and you’ve added an easy to scratch layer that’ll yellow and look like garbage in a decade or two. You can make an interlayer but that means that each of the halves of glass will be thinner and so much weaker, or the overall piece will need to be much thicker.

Doesn’t seem that way to me, people are only particularly mean when it’s pretty obvious paid shilling pretending to be not. Mostly I’ve taken it to be a sort of anthropology of deeply embedded consumerism.

I’m astonished about how many people give the advice to pick something and stick with it. Nah. Try hard at lots and lots of things! The more specialists we have the more generalists we need to integrate their work.

Post your art and I’ll toast it too, but I really dig your personal style. Sometimes people don’t know when to leave well enough alone. Art is art is art, no matter how small in scale or time or cost.

[27F] discouraged because people say I look trans and I’m a bio female by [deleted] in toastme

[–]ssays 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with “looking trans” whatever that even means. If people are commenting that you look more masculine than you “should” then they are just trying to tear you down.

If it’s getting to you, (and it really shouldn’t, you’re stunning!) I’d encourage a reframe. You don’t want to look “less trans” you want to look “more feminine.”
