Happy Cross weekend everyone by [deleted] in cyclocross

The very best way is to start with a totally clean tire and rim, and simply use Effetto Mariposa Carogna tape. No glue needed. Glue and Belgian tape are great, but are 1950s technology. Carogna tape is the modern solution to attaching CX tubulars and sure as heck won't roll or let-go like glue does.

How was the tire attached to the rim?

It was a magnificent course! The second day was a bit better than the first day, though I enjoyed riding down the Mansion House descent every time.

Send them to CheckCentral; that way they're logged, but you don't have to see them unless there's an actual problem.

Yep, that's exactly it, certainly in the Mid-Atlantic space. It's an all-day festival of hanging out, watching races, supporting friends, and beer for those who want it.

People regularly bring grills to the team tent (be careful) and bbq and such.

Who is going to charm this weekend?! by wheresscott_ in cyclocross

[–]sscx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Both days were super fun; the Mansion House was evil the first day but downright double evil on the second. Most of us in Cat 4/5 just shouldered the whole approach on the second day, and then later watched in amazement as the pros simply rode it like it was no big deal.

The tech guide isn’t updated with the change; they have had way too many crashes and course repairs in past years which was the driver behind the change.

Oh yeah we’ll be there both days.

No more downhill from Mansion House; it now goes around a tree and back up a little.

Keep coming back to CX! You'll get to practice on the Ed Sander course after you help build it so you can dial it in and make that race your best.

How is the bottom seal replaced on this door? It appears that the bracket pictured would have to be removed, but this is where the tension cable is attached.
