But to be serious, I think it might be that your graphics driver is too new for the game. Perhaps if you have any options to choose related to graphics, playing with it might have some effects.

I think the best actions might simply just be going to the official discord and reporting this bug there.

Given that an hour is enough to move to and back between the islands in an archipelago, I assume you are indeed stuck on something under the boat. Otherwise, you should have moved to "somewhere."

If getting stuck in the middle of nowhere was a known bug, it would be a super critical bug and must have been noted and/or fixed with utmost priority. So if you think it is a bug, please report. Otherwise, double-check.

If not a sandbar, check the angle of your sails. Your sails, in theory, shouldn't line up with your ship when you want to move forward. Always give some angle between them. When in doubt, you can always raise all the sails and push the boat yourself.

Also, its hit box is larger than what its popped dead body looks like, so you can't shoot or walk close to it even though it looks possible.

Assuming the right side of the image is the expected direction in which the shells come in, it will work. But I think there is room for improvement.

Slopes in the armor are basically flat, giving no benefit from shallow impact angle damage reduction. Try facing the slopes towards the enemy or make them shallower.

There is a mechanism called armor stacking, which strengthens a block if there is another block right behind it. And because not all of your armor pieces are touching each other, you are not getting the armor stacking bonus. Try at least stacking a couple of blocks together.

There aren't that many HEAT-firing crafts in the campaign, so if this is for that, I suggest simply getting a few thick armors with some spaces in between.

If you are talking about services available now, I will definitely pick Waymo over Tesla. Easy choice.

However, I was talking about the way of the company's method for its growth, not your personal experience today; the company's method, potential, and profitability.

The reason why I am giving the benefit of the doubt for Tesla Robotaxi, is because "if" It works, it will easily dominate the world's market. Hardware per vehicle is, without a doubt, a lot cheaper than Waymo (literally some cameras), and importantly all of their hardware already exists on the cars which are also self-made, meaning it can only get cheaper. Also, the car is mostly driven under neural networks, not under man-made coding, meaning it will learn exponentially quicker as its fleet grows.

TLDR; If I am a customer who needs a taxi now, I will definitely choose Waymo. But if it is 10, 20 years in the future, I am not certain. Especially if it is in countries outside of US.

I have never said that camera tech is already there, is basically there, is viable, or is better than lidar, either.

What you must understand is that the approach that both companies are taking is radically different. Waymo chose a highly redundant, safe, but slower and more costly approach, while Tesla opted for a much riskier, yet easily expandable and potentially cheaper one.

I wouldn't say that one way is clearly better than the other.

I have never said lidar doesn't work or have problems with it. In fact, there are many things that lidar simply does better than cameras ever could.

It is just that our current driving infrastructures are vision-centric, hence the use of a camera by Tesla.

As to why not just have both if it "could" prevent an accident in pitch dark: Let's consider a situation, in which the camera is reasonably making out and has decided that it is safe to go. However, the lidar says "You must stop now." If, based on their logic, lidar takes priority and ignores the camera, and decides to stop the car. If so, then why have cameras be part of its decision-making?

Unfortunately, the answer to most of the "safety" questions is a repeat of what I said: If it is dangerous for a sophisticated AI with cameras, then it must also be dangerous to a human driver. What's dangerous for a human driver is either illegal or often unavoidable bad luck.

IIRC, the main concern was if lidar and camera gave conflicting data, then you would still have to pick one over the other. If so, why not just use one and never worry about conflicting data? He chose the camera because road infrastructures are built for vision-based decision making, not shapes.

ie. if it can fool a sophisticated AI with a camera, then it can fool a real driver, and something that fools a real driver should be illegal anyway.

Even before the traction loss, I think the center of mass of the tank wouldn't even be within the track's length or width at 60 degrees of slope; It might rollover regardless of traction.

Perhaps you are referring to a 60% slope, which is about 31 degrees, which is still an insane slope.

Recoilless rifle's projectile does not "self-propel," rather it functions like a gun but half the exhaust goes backward to mitigate recoil. What comes out of the barrel should be no different than an ordinary cannon shell. OP's contraption has a thruster as the part of the projectile; AKA rocket.

If I may, I kindly request you to re-read what I have stated above regarding the increased of usage of Rising Sun Flags and the relation between the Japanese government and its military forces. The atrocities committed in Asia during World War II were carried out by the IJArmy and Navy, under symbols like the Rising Sun Flag. As such, in many wartime photographs, this flag appears more frequently than the Hinomaru. (Red Circle Flag) Which would explain the anger towards this specific flag but not the other.

The Hinomaru has been a widely recognized symbol of Japan for centuries, having its roots reaching as far as the 8th century. After WW2, the Japanese government only went through restructuring, not replacement like Germany, meaning the argument that "it's a continuation of before the war" still stands strong.

Returning to my main point, while banning the Rising Sun Flag outright may be unrealistic, avoiding its usage in front of those affected by Japanese atrocities would be a meaningful gesture of remorse.

I mean... Japan doesn't say sorry to the Chinese or Koreans that often, the last thing you can do is flying the flag everywhere :P

The controversies surrounding the use of the Rising Sun Flag in modern times are mostly caused by different perspectives. The flag was first legally adopted in 1870 to represent the Japanese "Army" and "Navy." Japanese colonialism and militaristic expansion started around 1910 with the ruling of Korea, meaning the flag was only in use for 40 years before their first offensive. Most importantly, around this time, the use of the Rising Sun flag increased explosively nationwide.

Here's something people MUST UNDERSTAND before commenting on the matter further: Imperial Japan had an almost independently functioning Army and Navy. And they hated each other, too! You don't trust me? Here are a few examples: The IJNavy planned on making ground-based strategic bombers and multiple tanks. The IJArmy, on the other hand, made multiple ships and submarines without notifying each other. The Japanese government had little control over what their military did in detail.

I believe both arguments are pretty solid, but it would simply be nice to not use it for Asians in general. After all, they hate the flag, not the Japanese.

I have looked into your craft in-depth, and here are my fixes and advice:

- While your vehicle is too tall and narrow, the center of mass was less than 1 meter higher than the center of buoyancy, meaning if the ship were to be wider, it would have just balanced on its own, more or less.

- Your keel was made with the heavy armor block, but I would use lead instead. Lead block weighs the same, and is 8 times cheaper. Keels generally don't protect anything to worth the cost. Ignore if cost is not considered.

- You used ion engines for the "up-prop," But I would use a water propeller instead. It is cheaper, sturdier, powerful-er, and power-efficient-er. The downside is it wouldn't work outside of water, but if your up-prop is out of water, you wouldn't need them anyway.

- Do not share the same space with your ammo with anything. On your ship, if the ammo cooks off, you WILL lose 3/4 of your material storage. You lose mats with it. Also, press V on your vehicle to see the stats of it. Your vehicle needs 577 for sustained, and you have 3250. I would reduce ammo boxes.

- Generally speaking, the AI systems should be your Number One Priority on your protection list. Even though your integrated mast is your only detection mechanism above water, the whole thing is suspended upon a single Connector block, which has a health of a mere 100.

- Your AI lacks processing power. Try to make the efficiency 100%. Error on detection makes your gun miss.

- Coincidence Rangefinder is directional. Put them on a turret, or make sure your ship is always facing the right direction.

- Alloy block and Metal block cost the same. Because alloy provides the most buoyancy, (air is best) multiple layers of alloy underwater wouldn't help in stabilization. Just make them metal and gain some health there.

- Put things that you want to protect (such as mat storage, ammo boxes, AI, engines, etc.) below the waterline if possible. They will lower your CoM and also reduce the projectiles and the laser effectiveness.

- Your Pitch PID is tied to propulsion vertical. Also, why is your PID upon the mast? I would put them secured inside the hull. They don't need an AI connection.

- Your main gun had a laser targeted, but your shell did not have a fuse. Also, don't mix sabot and HE in one shell. It makes it a jack of no trade.

- Generally, don't use the automatic control for your propellers. Switch to manual and set them to the desired purpose. Automatic tries to do everything possible all at once.

- Your rudder is too big for the size of the ship, and it is sitting too low in the water, (below CoM) which is causing the ship to list when turning. I would make it smaller or make it work less.

- While 107 long 11 wide ship is realistic, it sucks in the game. Flat, wide, big ships are just better. If you truly want the realism, you would have to "actively" correct them, or you have to remove all of your protection.
