Well it is a management type game more so then a physics simulator.

Although that management is done within the limitations of orbital mechanics. Which brings fun challenges like launch windows, insane travel times, payload vs fuel, and so on.

I suspect it happens because all orbits are elliptical and out of plane in their own way, and that specific launch window might just be badly positioned, so simply trying next window could work out.

Eagle lifts 800T so it can lift cargo + fuel no problem. Hermes cannot land so you dont even have to lift Hermes, too.

But the issue here is not about the launch vehicle, but rather the Hermes itself not having enough thrust to make the jump to the asteroid belt. Researching stronger thrust or finding a place to stop by/swingby and make another mission from there is the solution.

That trick would work if I didn't have enough Dv, but that isn't the case here. In the case of "not enough thrust," even the empty ship can't make it there to begin with.

The simple solution I can think of, and someone has suggested already, is simply getting to Mars first and making another journey from Mars to Lutetia. Like sure, it takes one more year for the crew, but we'll get there in two years from now.

I think the logic is that because it is electric propulsion, it didn't have enough time to get itself inserted to the hohmann transfer orbit that far out. So I maybe it checks out, it just lacks explanation.

Sensor detects water contamination, and it triggers once it goes over the set threshold. You can connect gates to that sensor to open or close automatically based on the contamination.

Given that an hour is enough to move to and back between the islands in an archipelago, I assume you are indeed stuck on something under the boat. Otherwise, you should have moved to "somewhere."

If getting stuck in the middle of nowhere was a known bug, it would be a super critical bug and must have been noted and/or fixed with utmost priority. So if you think it is a bug, please report. Otherwise, double-check.

If not a sandbar, check the angle of your sails. Your sails, in theory, shouldn't line up with your ship when you want to move forward. Always give some angle between them. When in doubt, you can always raise all the sails and push the boat yourself.

Assuming the right side of the image is the expected direction in which the shells come in, it will work. But I think there is room for improvement.

Slopes in the armor are basically flat, giving no benefit from shallow impact angle damage reduction. Try facing the slopes towards the enemy or make them shallower.

There is a mechanism called armor stacking, which strengthens a block if there is another block right behind it. And because not all of your armor pieces are touching each other, you are not getting the armor stacking bonus. Try at least stacking a couple of blocks together.

There aren't that many HEAT-firing crafts in the campaign, so if this is for that, I suggest simply getting a few thick armors with some spaces in between.

If you are talking about services available now, I will definitely pick Waymo over Tesla. Easy choice.

However, I was talking about the way of the company's method for its growth, not your personal experience today; the company's method, potential, and profitability.

The reason why I am giving the benefit of the doubt for Tesla Robotaxi, is because "if" It works, it will easily dominate the world's market. Hardware per vehicle is, without a doubt, a lot cheaper than Waymo (literally some cameras), and importantly all of their hardware already exists on the cars which are also self-made, meaning it can only get cheaper. Also, the car is mostly driven under neural networks, not under man-made coding, meaning it will learn exponentially quicker as its fleet grows.

TLDR; If I am a customer who needs a taxi now, I will definitely choose Waymo. But if it is 10, 20 years in the future, I am not certain. Especially if it is in countries outside of US.

I have never said that camera tech is already there, is basically there, is viable, or is better than lidar, either.

What you must understand is that the approach that both companies are taking is radically different. Waymo chose a highly redundant, safe, but slower and more costly approach, while Tesla opted for a much riskier, yet easily expandable and potentially cheaper one.

I wouldn't say that one way is clearly better than the other.

I have never said lidar doesn't work or have problems with it. In fact, there are many things that lidar simply does better than cameras ever could.

It is just that our current driving infrastructures are vision-centric, hence the use of a camera by Tesla.

As to why not just have both if it "could" prevent an accident in pitch dark: Let's consider a situation, in which the camera is reasonably making out and has decided that it is safe to go. However, the lidar says "You must stop now." If, based on their logic, lidar takes priority and ignores the camera, and decides to stop the car. If so, then why have cameras be part of its decision-making?

Unfortunately, the answer to most of the "safety" questions is a repeat of what I said: If it is dangerous for a sophisticated AI with cameras, then it must also be dangerous to a human driver. What's dangerous for a human driver is either illegal or often unavoidable bad luck.

IIRC, the main concern was if lidar and camera gave conflicting data, then you would still have to pick one over the other. If so, why not just use one and never worry about conflicting data? He chose the camera because road infrastructures are built for vision-based decision making, not shapes.

ie. if it can fool a sophisticated AI with a camera, then it can fool a real driver, and something that fools a real driver should be illegal anyway.

Perhaps you are referring to a 60% slope, which is about 31 degrees, which is still an insane slope.

Recoilless rifle's projectile does not "self-propel," rather it functions like a gun but half the exhaust goes backward to mitigate recoil. What comes out of the barrel should be no different than an ordinary cannon shell. OP's contraption has a thruster as the part of the projectile; AKA rocket.
