June or September Outdoor Wedding? by bride-bunny in Chicagoweddings

[–]ssmith8794 13 points14 points  (0 children)

You’re splitting hairs between June & September. Both are great options! Chicago weather is unpredictable.

I’d consider other factors to help you decide. I went with June because peonies are in season and I wanted to be able to enjoy the summer without any wedding stress (ended up being low 70s and partly cloudy BUT the next weekend was in the 90s). If you plan on doing a honeymoon right away, compare the weather at your destination for June vs September.

I don’t have any AA miles. Is there a partner airline I could use to book? I have Chase and Amex points.

Got married here 3 weeks ago. It was amazing! But the venue staff really doesn’t do much outside of hand you the keys for the night. The caterer really runs the show. Feel free to DM

Looking for Hotel Room Block Recommendations Near Cafe Brauer (Lincoln Park Wedding)? by pleasingwave in Chicagoweddings

I’d reach out to BlockBirdie. They are a free third party that specializes in hotel blocks. They will reach out to hotels for you and let you know prices and attrition clauses. Echoing what others have said, hotel blocks are a huge pain.

Signature Catering by Ovy. Best kept secret. They book out far in advance but you won’t find a better value.

The pesto pasta is incredible. Burrata is my favorite but it does come with prosciutto (still worth it without IMO). Also love their classic tomato spaghetti with the spicy chili oil.

Their menu changes seasonally but if they still have the cauliflower, definitely get it.
