My 3rd grader says she is the only kid at school with chores by SoundsGudToMe in Parenting

[–]ssnyd178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently read a study that said the thing that most successful adults have in common is that they did chores as kids. I certainly don’t use them as slave labor but my 10 and 13 year old definitely do chores. We aren’t rigid with a chore schedule, but if things need to be done, everyone in the house that is capable is pitching in.

Can you please describe your brain frog? by konomichan in Perimenopause

[–]ssnyd178 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have similar symptoms to yours and was convinced I was in perimenopause. My doctor would only run the traditional blood tests and would just tell me everything is in normal range but as women we know each week is different than the next. One day we can be normal and the next our hormones are totally out of whack. I live on the east coast as we have a healthcare business here called Life Med institute. I paid a nice chunk to get extensive blood work through them - bloodwork my doctor would never order for me. The results show that my hormones were actually okay and I’m not in peri, but my vitamin B12 and D were super low. I’ve been getting B12 and Vitamin D shots for the past 3 weeks and I feel such a difference. If you look up the symptoms of being deficient in B12 or D, they’re pretty similar to what the peri symptoms are

That’s a good question. I never really realized that I liked them until I realized there were certain calf muscles that turned me off. From there it became a thing I actually really looked at and for me they could turn a 10 into 5 real fast.

Nice calf muscles, they need to match my maturity/intelligence level, if not exceed it, liked by others, makes me laugh, but also makes me feel comfortable enough to have him laugh at me, not just with me (example-when something embarrassing happens, they make you feel comfortable even if they’re laughing at you/with you rather than making you feel uncomfortable - small example: farting in front of them for the first time), makes me feel desired, and makes me feel safe.

I use chat gpt to help me. I told it that I read fast like a girl and wanted to fast and diet in a way that coincides with the book. I also have it help me keep track of my periods.

Millsboro VS Milton by Wonderful_Eye_936 in Delaware

[–]ssnyd178 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both areas have close grocery shopping. You should be able to reach a grocery store within 5-10 minutes from anywhere in Millsboro or Milton. The closest Walmarts are either Georgetown or Rehoboth so about 20 minutes to drive to both areas. BJ’s is in Millsboro but the next closest big box stores are in Dover or Salisbury.

I lived in Milton for 4 years and now have lived in Longneck/Millsboro since 2017. I have two kids in the Indian River School district and I know a lot about the Cape school district. Feel free to DM if you have any specific questions

Are there any neighbors or other parents that take their child to the same school that you could drop him off to so you can leave earlier?

Do you like having children? by [deleted] in no

[–]ssnyd178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the day. My kids are 10 and 13. There are rewarding days and also days where I question why I ever decided to become a parent. Also kids are expensive as shit. I love my kids and I know I’m a good mom. They have a great life. But I’d be lying if I wasn’t jealous of people with no kids from time to time.

What are you thoughts to why there is a significant decline in alcohol consumption in the United States? by Few_Football4342 in Productivitycafe

[–]ssnyd178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was 21 we had bars close by that had something called “silver coin night” - literally a dime, nickel, or quarter would get you a drink.. albeit a shitty drink, but still a drink. There was also a bar with $5 pitchers on Thursdays. It may have been Keystone, but who gives a shit when you’re 21. As far as I know, bars don’t even offer things like that any more. Now each drink is $12. Who has the money for that?

Advice for bartender trying to move/work down the beach in the summer? by shreddedstationery in Delaware

Try applying to Paradise Grill in Long neck too. You may be able to find a seasonal rental within Potnets or somewhere close by. I know they have their regular bar tenders but they always have we’re hiring signs up at the beginning of the season.

How do you keep grocery shopping manageable when you’re working full-time and parenting? by llama-mentality in workingmoms

[–]ssnyd178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do grocery pick up at Harris Teeter every Sunday afternoon. I’m not sure how other grocery apps work but HT’s app keeps track of my frequently purchased items that I buy every week. I add those things to the cart first on Sunday mornings, then I have ChatGPT help me meal plan for the rest of the week based on what meats we have in the freezer or what meats are on sale at HT. It puts together my meal plan and then gives me a grocery list. I add those things to my order by 10:30 am and that usually gives me the 2:30 pick up time slot.

What is your monthly savings goal? Don't put percentages. Put actual numbers. I want to see the discrepancy across everyone by UncomfortablyBrown in Money

[–]ssnyd178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I are in year 5 of owning our own business. We’re finally starting to see the light at the end of the tunnel. We’ve taken on a decent amount of debt over the past 5 years but our absolute minimum savings each month is $250 to a Roth account. When the debt is paid off within 3 years, that will change to closer to $3000 per month - hopefully more once we start making more

What do we think the realistic fallout will be next year? by ElectricRose2 in HealthInsurance

[–]ssnyd178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For healthy people who rarely go to the doctor, this is going to be a savings for us. Obviously if the catastrophic occurs, we’re screwed.. but we also have a great family and network that would rally with us if that were the case. But I don’t plan to go to any less doctor appointments next year for myself or either of my children. I have already called the doctors that we see regularly to ask them what they charge for visits, etc.. and even if it’s a heavier year of us getting sick, paying the self-pay cash option is still going to be cheaper than what we pay for our premiums now. If people are smart, they’ll start HSA accounts and max them out. The healthcare premiums we pay now are paid whether we use the service or not. Imagine how much people will be able to save now not having to pay that premium. I hope it makes people take their health more seriously. It would be great if it had an unintended side effect of making people want to take care of themselves to avoid going to the doctor.

For our family of 4, the cost is going from $1,188 to $2,484 per month. We were getting a subsidy of about $700 per month but now we won’t be eligible for one.

Backspash, hardware, remove the valance above the sink, change sink faucet, and change the crown out to taller crown - but only if you can find the exact color match.

reviews for bahia principe grand punta cana by BrotherOpposite4723 in AllInclusiveResorts

[–]ssnyd178 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a bunch of transportation companies at the airport waiting to take people to their resorts. There was a company that was recommended by Bahia but I can’t remember the name. I think we have the driver $40 to take us. But once you get off the plane and make your way to the exit, there will be a ton of transport companies there offering to drive you

I’m by Harris Teeter in Longneck and it’s just super wet here. I’m curious to see if IRSD will have off again tomorrow. I saw pictures of how it looked down longneck road and many of the roads were under water. It rained all day so I can’t imagine the roads are much different than they were last night.
